Trial News

I really haven't followed the sexual assault trial in the district court that's been going on this week, but I did watch the Defendant testify this afternoon. Note: It's always a bad start when you have to admit to being released from prison for robbery in December of 2007 after having spent 15 real years locked up. Anyway, the guy had written a couple of incriminating notes that had managed to end up in front of the jury with "State's Exhibit #" stitckers on them -- also a bad sign. But I got confused when he briefly explained that one of them, entitled "Angel", was written because of the movie 88 Minutes. Or, as the Defendant said, "The movie 88 Minutes starring Al Pacino and LeeLee Sobieski." I still don't understand. Closing arguments begin tomorrow at 8:45 a.m.

Maybe we should just kill him and let the jurors go home early. Nobody outside prison walls would miss him, and hell, the world ain't runnin' out of people.

Did he drool when he said "LeeLee Sobieski"? 'Cause, like, that would be another bad sign, right?

If I was there I'd slap my hand down on a desk and shout,"If I was HALF the man I was five years ago I'd take a FLAME thrower to this place!"

Regardless of whether I was involved or not- I just have outbursts like that and shout random movie quotes.

There are actually several terms that come to mind on the Texas Justice note:

collusion
political positioning
conspiracy
lawyering
collaboration

A good lawyer knows the law, a great lawyer knows the judge!

Anyone else think she could be Helen Hunt's daughter?

For the life of me, I don't understand why main stream media isn't saying much about ACORN, other than Obama has them in his pocket. Maybe that explains the buldges! And how about the new health plan for Obama -- DISAPPROVAL rating is up to 62% now. I'm thrilled this nation is finally waking up to this guy!

Denney - thanks for giving us inside information about what goes on between judges and lawyers.

Is this fair?

Is this legal?

If the answer is no to both, then why go through the whole thing?

I happen to be a big believer in the justice system, if it is conducted fairly, honestly AND legally between lawyers and judges.

If it isn't, it is just theatrics and a waste of tax payer money AND time.

"I happen to be a big believer in the justice system,"

Naive dawg, very naive. Just wait, the machine will break you of that thinking sooner or later I can assure you.
