"I've Got A Feeling ..."

The Ticket talked about this gal the other day, and I've seen at least two other people write about her since then. She is Camille Cortinas. Her current claim to fame? She's the voice behind the kidnapping-of-the-mind song, "Lucky Day", which promotes the Texas Lottery. You can find a quick loading link to the song here. But I promise you, if you listen to it, it will be struck in your brain pan for the rest of the day. Or longer.

Does it piss anyone else off that the state spends so much money promoting an illegal gambling operation with obnoxious ditties?

wait...how is it illegal?

1:16, the lottery is not illegal, and the money that pays for the obnoxious ditties comes from proceeds from lottery ticket sales. Therefore, anyone in the State of Texas can choose NOT to pay for the ditties by simply not buying a lottery ticket.

With the exception of gambling, there is no gambling allowed in Texas.

The lottery is a tax on those that are mathematically illiterate whether they dine in or drive thru.

This song has been in my head for about a week.

I think the reason it's catchy is that it has a Beatles type feel to the melody.

So it doesn't bother you that the state engages in an activity they have prohibited to its citizens? An activity which holds no value to society, except to bleed ignorant people of their money. Well, check a few statistics as to how many people have been adversely affected by state sponsored gambling compared to those who have benefitted.

Someone's lack of personal discipline, that allows them to fall before the alter of GAMBLING is not my F'ING problem. You are responsible for yourself. It is no one elses job to feed, finance, or f... you, so if you can't control your gambling and don't no when to stop losing your money, just come on out to the VFW, and I'll gladly speed along your demise you weak bastard.
