My Engineering Brain . . .

. . . has concluded that the Decatur square is now too narrow for traffic ever since it was re-worked last summer. At least it is at the corner where Matties used to be (now Sweetie Pie's Cross Eyeds or something like that.) It's hard for two cars, going opposite directions, to get past one another.

This is very true 2 vehicles going the opposite direction can not fit on those narrow roads

Given the size of cars (meaning trucks) in Wise County, I would concur.

Given the size of the women in Wise County bgirl, the trucks are a necessity. You can't fit a hefer in a Tercel.

And there aren't many sidewalks in Decatur away from The Square! Just try walking on anyones lawns near the curbs!!!

Is it just me or is the food at Sweetie Pies just disgusting or what? I was invited to the opening and was shocked to see a place with ribeye's in the title wouldn't allow me to order my steak medium rare?

If the county ever builds a new justice center (which is needed), that should help some of the traffic around the courthouse.

Like Chico did years ago, we finally squared the square. That is all that matters. Cars we worry about that later.

Maybe Decatur needs to change the parking situation and move it behind the stores.

Hmmmm....
IF the roads that run north and south in the photo were made ONE way then there would be NO concern about oncoming traffic.

maybe people with the extended cab dually pickups could leave them at home and not park them sticking out into the street there?
