I like Obama's rhetoric, so far. The man is interesting. He seems to genuinely listen to both sides of an issue and is not always simply following the party line. He also seems to be smart. But I will say this, it is unlikely he can beat the power brokers in the Democratic machine that will support others. They will not get behind him unless he demolishes the competition early. If it is close they will back another. I believe that when the dust settles, we will see a moderate white Southerner as the Democratic nominee in hopes they can break a few states to go blue.
I also like Obama. However, I don't accept the notion the Democrats need a Southern moderate (whoever that might be). Recall the Democrats need only win the same states Gore and Kerry did plus one state. Due to Bush's screw-ups there appears to be several Red states now in play so Obama (or Hilliary) could win by just holding the Blue states + one more.
I'd put Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton on the same ticket. I don't think they would lose. You'd get all of the democratic voters, all of the black voters, and a good chunk of female voters.

* Pro-abortion. * Voted against reducing federal spending. * Against the death penalty. * Voted against drilling in ANWR. (Thereby continuing our dependence on foreign oil) * Would allow lawsuits against gun manufacturers. * Voted YES on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security
Obama's a died-in-the-wool Liberal. Anyone believing otherwise can classify himself as a "numbnuts" or "retard." (Youse guys' words.)
Hillary is who the media and the right-wingers want NOT who Democrats what.
Obama may be a good guy (he is pretty cute) but I'd like to see him take a strong stand on something.
I wonder why Obama voted against that bill to reduce federal spending. Could it be that it effected the most vulnerable of our society? I know that some of you don't really give a rat's ass about anybody else.
Voted NO on $40B in reduced federal overall spending. Vote to pass a bill that reduces federal spending by $40 billion over five years by decreasing the amount of funds spent on Medicaid, Medicare, agriculture, employee pensions, conservation, and student loans. The bill also provides a down-payment toward hurricane recovery and reconstruction costs.
What's up with that name? Obama Osama Dali Lama Yo Mama. With a name like that, he stand no chance of a national elected position. Obama Bam Salami Bami Yo Mama!

I think it is FAIR to say that MOST people are aware that Fox News is just as UNBALANCED as the OTHER media outlets.

Just for YOUR information I am; Pro-Choice, Anti-Death Penalty and against ILLEGAL immigration as well as benefits for ILLEGAL immigrants and FOR a VIABLE guest worker program. Personally, I think it would be a GREAT idea to "charge" Mexico by taking away a certain amount of aid dollars for EVERY ILLEGAL immigrant the United States captures and returns to Mexico. I think Mexico should be charged ten fold for ANY ILLEGAL immigrant who commits a crime in the United States. This would make it MEXICO'S responsibility to keep THEIR citizens IN Mexico. Odd how THAT idea has NEVER been put forward by U.S. elected officials.
