. . . consider this news over the last three days:
- The CEO of Home Depot, Bob Nardelli abruptly resigned today, but will receive a severance package of $210 million.
- J.C. Penney fired its COO right before the new year (after six months on the job) only to have to pay her "about $10 million in severance ."
- Today, the University of Alabama hired Nick Saban for 8 years and $32 million (guaranteed.)

What does it matter what these guys made? Are you making less because of it? Lawyers certainly make more than most of the rest of us. You enjoy showing off your high-tech toys and live a lifestyle that many people would love to be able to afford. Should people resent how much you make?
There's the Liberal mindset in a nutshell. They insist on a zero-sum game, trying to exploit the natural envy people have towards anyone who has a nickel more than they do.
The underlying message when showing super-enormous salaries like this is: "Let's take it away from them."
How about if we start with lawyers?
2:56 - shutup and go to bed.
I am NOT offended in the least by the insane amount CORPORATIONS elect to pay their top personnel. However, I am OUTRAGED that a PUBLIC school would pay $32,MILLION to a COACH. The coach is being paid with TAXPAYER dollars.
The coach is being payed with revenue generated by a succesful football program, not tax dollars!!! Why do you think we see the emergence of football programs such as Boise St., Wake Forest, Louisville, etc.; it is because there is big money in it.
WELL SAID, WORDKYLE, AND RIGHT ON TARGET!
My advice would be for anyone that doesn't like it to go apply and get one of those kinds of jobs, instead of being upset about their personal situation. At one time, all these high paid individuals were sucking milk out of a bottle, pooping in diapers, picking boogers out of their nose and popping their zits just like everyone else. They made something out of their opportunities, whatever those were; just like everyone can. Lot of people make bad or limiting life decisions when they are young, then get bent out of shape when those that didn't end up making more dough. And who says these rich cats are happy, anyway?
any excuse to post cheerleader pics, eh?
Alabama needs to spend $15 for the blonde cheerleader some bigger pants.
ROLL TIDE!
Alabama fans wont be happy unless or until Bear Bryant is resurrected.
I think we should do away with the Constitution and that inconvenient 'due process', and just lock up anyone who isn't a white Christian millionaire. We should also ban opinions. That way there would be no need for lawyers, or blogs.
Shut up, mzchief.....Anon 8:34 is right...you are once again wrong.
It won't be long now. Bug eyed Pelosi will raise the minimum wage and all will be right with the world. People will start to lose their jobs because small companies will not be able to afford to give them a raise but the liberals will feel good that they have now wiped out poverty in the USA.
I'd hit it !
Great pic kingfish. LOL
Ahem...
According to the Associated Press "University officials said the coach's salary would be paid from the athletic department budget, which is supported in part by ticket sales and licensing agreements." This is all well and good UNTIL you find out that it is taxpayer dollars that pays for the maintenance of the stadium and other buildings used by the football program including the athletes' dorms. There would be NO ticket sales or licensing agreements if there was NO taxpayer provided university. I would also imagine that IF less of the money from ticket sales went to pay a coach SOME of those receipts could go toward paying for building maintenance.
It will be interesting to know what is the result of the University of Alabama's NEXT request for MORE state funds.
mzchief...it would all be nice and good and wonderful if 80 to 100 thousand fans showed up weekly to watch what little Junior did all week in his Fine Arts class at UC Berkeley, or what new discovery the research dept. at MIT came up with, but this is not a perfect world. We pay our football coaches big money, we drink beer, look at cheerleeders asses, pay $100 a ticket, and tailgait all day...that is just what a good percentage of people do for fun. This brings in big money and most university administrators are on board with it!!! I am sorry our world can't consist of only intellectual endevours, but every once in a while I think it is a good thing to just drink beer, be lazy, and spend an afternoon watching football!!!!
