The Campaign For DA

Big Capital Murder Case Reversed

There was a huge case a couple of years back where two females were found dead in a Granbury restaurant parking lot. I could have sworn I wrote about it and thought there was a Wise County connection. The defendant was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to life without parole.

The Fort Worth Court of Appeals just ruled the evidence was insufficient and ordered an acquittal. Barring further appeals by the State, he will be set free and can never be retried.

Edit: Found the connection from a prior post.

Further edit: I thought the case was weak back then

What are your thoughts on the DAPL and protest? Do the protesters stand a chance of winning?

....but he still committed the murder, right?

He never flat out denied it and there is not other person of interest.

Nothing is better than when a case gets thrown out the window. Happened to me a while back. That defeated look on the DA and prosecutors face is just priceless.

In the end, this will be a "nobody did it" situation. Can't convict this guy beyond reasonable doubt, but any others accused in the future can use this first prosecution in their defense as reasonable doubt. So, most likely these girls were not actually killed by anyone.

Well, they were just girls. The world ain't runnin out of girls.

This poor guy, on the other hand, that's the sort of person we need to protect and cherish. It's not like the guy had a prior record of violence,,, or did he?
