Random Friday Morning Thoughts

  • There was a shooting at Northern Arizona University this morning. But I've only  seen a news blurb. It's obviously too early for classes.
  • I'll be in Kansas this weekend for another crazy football trip. Baylor and TCU will join me. And there are other sporting events going on if I can pull it off. After all, time is not your friend.
  • So Kevin McCarthy withdrew from the House Speakship because of a veiled threat of impropriety? The GOP needs to relax.
  • I feel like I'm the only one who thinks of a radio host when I hear the name Kevin McCarthy.
  • If you saw the video of the lady trying to fight off the purse snatcher in Dallas I hope your thought was "give him the purse and live".
  • The re-enactment of Kennedy assassination yesterday in Dallas creeped me out a little bit. But women do need to bring back the pill box hat.  That's a good look.
  • I had an email conversation with a Houston lawyer yesterday regarding a potential statewide scam. And he provided a theory which I had not thought of
  • That crazy pillow gift I received a couple of days ago may be my favorite gift ever simply because of the puzzlement it provided me.
  • I'm sitting on a plane right now next to an Eric Dickerson lookalike who won't shut up and is doing a comedy routine. I never thought I'd have a moment listen to George Lopez.

"I feel like I'm the only one who thinks of a radio host when I hear the name Kevin McCarthy." You're obviously not a fan of old science fiction movies.

"Kevin McCarthy withdrew from the House Speakship (sic) because of a veiled threat of impropriety?" - Hmmm. Any prominent Democrats we know of who are accused of impropriety? The "Draft Biden" campaign was prompted by that, wasn't it? Who needs to relax?

RTG: What a great start for a Friday. Thank you. Good Job BG.

Sorry, but there was no shooting at Northern Arizona. That campus is a "gun free" zone. How could there be a shooting if nobody has a gun?

Kansas would lose to the worst Texas high school team. Save your money.

Your not the only one who thinks of the Radio Host. He had a great Friday segment of Joke and Talent Hour where he took calls from the listeners for their best jokes. He is also the former Reunion Arena voice of the Mavericks

When I think of Kevin McCarthy, I think of the radio host. I also think that Clarice Tinsley is all wet.

You'll be right at home in Lawrence Kansas. The filthy cesspool of progressives is right there. Although none of them will be at the football game, because there are no free handouts. The beauty of KU football is that not only will you be to pick your own seat, you could probably claim an entire section of the stadium. The team is poorly supported.

If you want to see a raucous crowd go to the TCU Kansas State game. You would have plenty of time to get to Manhattan. KU stomping begins at 11 and K State plays at 6:30pm. If K State stays with TCU, you will not believe the crowd. Many coaches have been quite surprised at the crowd noise and atmosphere in Manhattan. Even Sheriff Briles has commented on it back in the RGIII days.

I don't feel that way. I listened to him when I was in high school in the early to mid Nineteen Seventies and he & Ed Busch were on WFAA. That was before talk radio went away for the most part. Later, when talk radio returned, I listened to him & David Gold on KLIF.

I even know his real name which isn't McCarthy unless he had it changed.

Yes. I. Know. It. All.

The woman in Dallas needed to pull out her concealed weapon and shoot that bastard. He would never commit another crime.

Can you, just once, give the Rangers some credit???? #nevereverquit

Skippy, As a liberal weenie who always looks at life with a racial lens, I would have thought you would know that Eric Dickerson is Afro-American and George Lopez is Mexo-American. And you need to edit your last sentence.

Kevin McCarthy is still on Sundays on a car show on WBAP. He was the best talk show host in the DFW area ever. Today it is all politics.

"If you saw the video of the lady trying to fight off the purse snatcher in Dallas I hope your thought was 'give him the purse and live'."

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I was hoping that she would get her purse back, and destroy a testicle of his. Yes, it exposes her to a higher chance of getting hurt. But she made her choice not to be victimized, if she could reasonably help it. It sounds like you've made your choice. So be it. We all have our priorities. I'm not going to beat my chest, but my priorities are a bit different from your own.
