The Campaign For DA

Ferris Bueller Took His Fictional Day Off 30 Years Ago Today

I'm not talking about the date of the release of the movie. I'm talking about what day it was when his character roamed around Chicago.

How do we know it was June 5, 1985? The baseball game.

I wonder if schools were in session in Chicago that day?

A search of the Googles tells me that the last day of school for Chicago public schools this year is June 19 (scheduled for the 17th with 2 make up days for weather). Given that schools in the northern part of the country have traditionally started after Labor Day and gone well into June, it's pretty feasible that his school was in session on June 5, 1985.
