No Charges Against Grapevine Cop Who Shot Motorist

Some?

Edit: Here's the video (package in a PR piece from Grapevine PD.)  Hey, I'm not saying the officer deserves to be indicted because obtaining a conviction would be next to impossible (once you have a jury who will apply the reasonable doubt standard.) But was the only option to shoot and kill the guy?

Good. Maybe he didn't need to die, but the Mexican didn't help himself out.
Now maybe the Mexican Gloria Allred will STFU for a while.

There were over 40 shootings this weekend in Chicago. None of the shootings were officer involved.

Grapevine PD has a statement with relevant portions of the video on Youtube. This was absolutely justified...even Skippy won't be able to spin this one.

That guy didn't have to die. I don't care how you square it, it was murder.

Was it possible this Mexican subject was unable to understand the gravity of the situation at hand and decided to pursue an unknown course of action that at the moment may have not been fully understood by the actor creating a potential risk of serious injury or death or somethin?

1:17 Police officer agitated, pointing gun at you. I'm thinking that may be universally understood.

If that cop had just stepped a few steps back the drunk would have probably fell down, or the cop could have just redirected the drunk's movement. Judo 101. Dumba$$ cops.

Cop did his job.

Learn English. Prollem solved.

I'm thinking there may have been a couple options available to the officer after the guy stepped away from his car and before the officer's bullet killed him.

Life is tough, it's tougher when you're stupidly flee the police, then don't follow the Police orders AND are drunk. Duh!

1:17 is right! If cops could speak every language on the planet this tragedy could have been averted.

even Skippy won't be able to spin this one.

But you can bet Mr. Anti-cop Green will. That's the way he is wired.

Grapevine police have a Statement on their face book page showing how the man moved steadily toward the police officer with eyes averted in order to get close enough to attack. The officer told him 20 times to stop. I don't think the bad guy had any good intentions when he didn't stop! And he wasn't so drunk he didn't understand!

I have not seen one of these officer involved shootings that had some poor minority lined up against a wall and shot!. They where breaking the law and or physically assaulting an officer. Darwanizam!

Options....

taser.....uh...no.

pepper spray....uh...no

take him down like the cops did the Mom in the parking lot in front of her kid giving her a full face plant.....uh....no

a kick to the knutz...uh....no

Taking control of the situation....uh....no

Shoot him once.....uh....no

Default answer, shoot him twice, then broadcast shots fired...

That cop needs to be retrained.

If you are scared of an unarmed, drunk, fat man slowly walking toward you with his hands above his head, then you shouldnt be a cop.

To all yall who say he should have followed orders, youre right. But that doesnt mean the driver shouldve been killed.

How does the Newly Elected District Attorney justify the release of the names of those who appeared before the Grand Jury? The proceedings are secret. Nothing leaves the Grand Jury if the case is not True Billed. Is this a breach of ethics? It is a violation of the secrecy of the grand jury. If a witness breaches the secrecy it is a contemptible offense. Fine or Jail time. Or is this just another way for her to get her name in the paper?

No Bills are traditionally for those that have been arrested. Did the new DA forget that? When was the officer arrested for this offense?

The correct reporting out by the Grand Jury is "Take no action." It has been that way since the 1960's.

The new communications officer for SharEn Wilson pushed the contempt limit today by issuing a press release with the names of all of those that testified in secret for a case that never made it out of the grand jury. The Judge of the 213th District Court now has the option to hold her and her boss in contempt. We deserve better than these constant mistakes by someone who claims to have experience.

Some who think the policeman had other options when the bad guy kept coming toward him asking if he was going to kill him, need to think the guy was trying to charge the officer and take his gun. If I were on the grand jury I would have voted not to indict.

Justified!!!
