"Denton Teacher Remakes Uptown Funk As STAAR Test Motivation"

Original here. This one is a side by side comparison with the original.

I'm kind of surprised she didn't catch a little heat for this. (And I really don't know why I feel that way.)

I liked it. I don't believe for a second that it will make a single bit of difference on a test, but it was pretty fun.

And she is a Hey, Now.

Pretty sad when teachers have to put on a performance to try and motivate the kids to do well on a test.

Because a middle school teacher in a revealing/tight tank top, tight jeans and high-heeled boots shaking her arse on a video doesn't do much to instill confidence in the education profession.

Because everything makes you uncomfortable.

Somebody watched a little too much School House Rocks on Saturday morning television when they were growing up.

Why is this video disturbing?

It has a positive message.. that's not bad.
It's clean.. She's not doing any inappropriate.
It's well done... Unbelievably good quality.

So what is it?

It's the fact that the video is all about her.
The kids won't be talking about the video quality, the catchy lyrics or the importance of the staar test.. they'll be talking about her.

And some of us are a little disturbed because we know there is a good chance she'll be the next Liberally Lean "..and another"

How many school videos have we seen over the past few years? How many have featured ONE teacher more than anyone else?
