Released Today: DPS Trooper Sued Over Search
It was released today. I don't think the lawsuit is going anywhere, though. It's a female trooper and the search of the girls begins at 3:15.
I think its more mind blowing that this was all over the alleged smell of marijuana.

DPS should be sued. The trooper should be sued. Trooper's little female helper should be subjected to the same treatment under duress.

That second girl certainly got finger-b**ged for quite a long time.
I'm no expert on the 4th Amendment, but that would get most people arrested.
Where does one apply for that job?
It used to take us three dates in a row to work our way up to that type of action. We should have been Texas DPS Troopers.

Good, it is about time. How long will we put up with those thugs?

I hope she never has to work another day for the rest of her life although I know DPS would just make the loss up with more tickets- if that is possible.

The whole stated reason they were stopped was because the trooper witnessed them throwing ciggeretts out of the cars' windows. When the male trooper starts talking to the girls he tells them this and that they will each be receiving a citation for littering. At the end of the video the girl says she had never been pulled over before and that she felt violated after having a finger in her butt and coochie. The trooper then tells her that's what happens when you drive a car that's had marijuana smoked in it daily and that they would each be given warnings for littering.
I am not a lawyer. But couldn't it be argued that after watching the girls get searched and hearing the one girl say she felt violated the trooper tried to make it up to them by not giving them tickets? Thereby showing that even the trooper felt they had been treated inappropriatly.

I hope we see a thousand comments on this. I hope cops all over the nation get word of just how expensive it is to be state-supported bully.
You cops out there need to ask yourselves if this is what you signed up for. Keep your hands to yourself or find another line of work.

To all people that are up in arms over this, remember, our own moderator of this web page doesn't think the law suit is going anywhere. And from what we all know about him already, if he doesn't think so, then there's probably not much to it.
FYI, checking the inside of someone's clothing, including underwear, is NOT the same thing as a strip search or finger banging someone.
And before you get all crazy-person about the basis for the search, Yes, our beloved Supreme Court has already ruled that the smell of marihuana IS probable cause for a search. Our moderator knows this, which completely explains his opinion.

So if my wife and kids are pulled over in front of a house where people are smoking dope, cop smells dope and gets suspicious, my wife and kids get fingered in public?
Looks like the cops did a fine job just no drugs found. Why didnt they look in the car trunk?

The girls were violated.
But, we live in a Republican controlled state that has done everything possible to eviscerate your 4th Amendment rights.

First place, just cause his smeller doesn't work does in no way deserve getting felt up by some stranger!!! He would you like to be treated that way for simply throwing a cig but out the window! REALLY!!! I would sue and take it all the way to a jury. If a jury seen this, I have a feeling they would agree!!!
I wonder how any cop would like their mom,daughter or child treated this humiliating way! Just disgusting! All over a cigarette butt...

On December 21, 2012, we won't have to worry any more about getting a yeast infection from a DPS trooper finger-searching our butts and then our vaginas.

OMG, I hope the lady trooper changed the gloves before she fingered the second girl. This is horrible! Poor girls! What an a-hole cop. Bet he had wet dreams that night...he is a disgrace to his uniform and a creep!
What if there had been no female cops on duty on that shift. Would a guy cop do the same thing?
