- Radio Shack has fired its CEO. It seems like that happens every couple of years. Them along with JC Penney and Hewlitt Packard.
- First it was the lawyer's profane email stream that I linked to earlier this week and now an aide to Hillary Clinton goes off on a reporter via email as well. People behaving badly.
- I've been seeing Wise County Sheriff's deputies monitor traffic on 287. Two deputy cars were within a half mile of each other two days ago hiding in sneaky places. That's pretty rare.
- Facebook fact: Everyone thinks their children are more "amazing" than anyone else's children.
- I'm kind of surprised that Weatherford College's Wise County campus has an actual Bridgeport address. Then again, I'm not sure I've ever seen a Wise County Zip Code map.
- You guys said it couldn't happen, but if the Rangers lose the next two to Oakland then things get dicey. (You do not want to be a wildcard team with that goofy one game playoff.)
- I always try to have a positive attitude, but I also believe in being honest with myself.
- I would hate to submit Lil Wayne to a deposition but some lawyer had to when the rapper sued Quincy Jones.
- That was a crazy wreck referenced in today's Update. I wonder how many times brakes actually "fail" these days?
- Andy Williams has died this morning. I can't say that I'm a big fan, but Moon River ain't bad. And he pretty much discovered The Osmonds -- which probably were bad but weren't back in the day.

BG, the RTG is acceptable. Nothing special, a little chunky, and working too hard to gain my attention...but, no doubt, I'd hit it. However, I don't regularly read your blog to see what passes for hot at the elementary school PTA organizational meeting. I'm here for the fantastic, the amazing, the "oh my" moments. This isn't one.

Andy had an amazingly long career with many hits and one of the finest variety shows on TV.
Good clean, wholesome entertainment. No place for that today.
The one thing I remember about Andy Williams was over something that happened 20 years ago when he located himself at his theater in Branson, Missouri.
He was quoted in the media as saying most of the Country Music in Branson was "crap" — and Country Music radio stations in my area, at least, responded by gathering up all of their Andy Williams albums and flattening them with a steamroller.
Am I the only one who remembers this?

My child informed me that there were some teachers/principals inspecting lunches that their parents packed for school. My child mentioned that they were checking to see if their food was healthy. I find this to be very concerning. The elementary schools have become a sweat shop for testing and other money generating assessments. Since my child is being assessed Mon-Fri. on his/her abilities with little instruction, it is my opinion that they deserve a Hershey Big Block to help prepare them for the 30 plus bullshit worksheets coming their way. What is in my childs lunch is none of your business. As stressful as these school have become they may even deserve a pack of lucky's with a smoke break. With that being said, I hope all of you pajama jean wearing, middle aged beauty queens worry about mixing a salad in your own lunch before you inspect my childs food choices.

That green tile at the UN is not tile. It is slate, a natural stone. And since it was already about a hundred million years old when they put it up there, I don't see how 40 years or so would cause it to be worn out. And since no other country supports UN expenditures to the extent that we do, and we're broke, would you like for Obama to borrow some MORE money from China to change that tile? Just so he could say "We built that"?

can you not post something on facebook, about how proud you are of your kids? Doesn't mean they are better than anyone else, just means you are proud of their accomplishments, (and each child has different things they have to go through)and you are proud of them. If you don't like it, delete those friends. Otherwise have your own kids, and see how amazed and happy you are when they accomplish something everyday, no matter how little, they learn so fast! My kids are grown, and I still brag about them on facebook, and will continue!
