- Anyone who wants to spend their time at a council meeting is either a great citizen or crazy.
- Mayor Moncrief knows how to run a meeting. That's exactly the way you handle it -- show as much patience as possible until the only option is to kick someone out.

Your Local Government Lesson Of The Day
There's nothing particularly earthshaking about this video of some gay rights protesters showing up at the Fort Worth City Council meeting, but once I started watching it, it was a little hard to cut away from.
Apparently this occurred two weeks after the raid of the Rainbow Lounge, and the protesters were actually placed on the agenda to speak. But some of them were none to happy to be the LAST item on the agenda.
The good stuff kicks up at the 1:00 minutes mark. Part 2, where there were some very cooperative ejections from the room, is here.

I wish I could feel offended by everything and get away with it crying like a baby.
Well, let's see how Mayor Don handles the council meeting tonight!!
That was actually kind of entertaining.
Jack Daniels, I'd really like to know how the meeting goes also. I have a home for sale that I have not lived in for 3 months, yet my electric bill was almost $100??? And it has been shown once since Christmas. I would really like to know what happens. Thank you.
Hope everyone in B-port attends the council meeting and speaks their mind. It won't do much good, but there is a city election coming up.
I also thought the Rainbow Lounge incident was unacceptable, but this clown had no clue how to handle himself. I think he had watched "Milk" a few too many times.
Best Show in Town??? Tune in to WRR FM on the Wednesdays they broadcast the DALLAS City Council meetings. What a joke! You want to talk about things getting out of hand! And it's ALWAYS North Dallas vs South Dallas.......no matter who the mayor is, what color they are, or what sex they are, they can't control that group. Moncrief rocks!!
Danny, Just become a liberal weenie faggot and your dreams will come true.
They have to raise electric rates in B'port to pay for the WAY over budgeted police department. They have ordered 6 (six) new Tahoes to add to the fleet. What's that make? 20 police vehicles or more?
But then again, gotta have good looking cop cars to escort the teams into/out of town.
Jack Daniels - Mayor Don will talk non stop and everybody will likely go home and go to sleep from boredom.
Nuthin' worser than a mouthy queer!
2:26: Agreed. Moncrief does rock! If I had been in his place, I would have probably either starting cussing out the idiot or threw him out myself!
2:40: What a waste of money on those cars! I was driving over on Rufe Snow in North Richland Hills about a week ago and saw several of those trucks setting there at a company getting radios installed.
Thanks for moving this up on your agenda.
Good stuff! lol
I have ALWAYS admired that mayor for the way he conducts the business of the city, and AGAIN he shows class! I would have thrown out those loud mouth, out-of-order creeps a long time before the mayor did!
People of Bridgeport... VOTE. VOTE. VOTE.
Everyone who's place is up, VOTE 'EM OUT.
VOTE IN anyone who will take fiscal responsibility. As in, quit using a soft-tax via profitable utilites to fund new new police cars, stone buildings and too many people on the payroll.
VOTE.
I'm sure the homeless folks weren't in a hurry to leave anyways...
I bet there were some cooperative ejaculations in the room too.
240 the police department is getting three new vehicles and a replacement vehicle for Sgt White's unit that was paid for by insurance I am sure. As for 20 vehicles in the fleet all the new vehicles are replacing the oldest ones in the fleet. Get some facts before you start spouting what you think is the truth
Mayor Mike was way too patient. I'd have ejected that pansy-ass at about 3 minutes.
I was gettin an urge to hit me a queer too. I understand why the cops did.
Ok....let me see here.
1) You expect me to wait for a 10 minute youTube video to load so I can watch a bunch of queers scream for equal rights.
2) You show resentment to Kenneth Starr becoming the Prez of an institution you attended 30 years ago.
3) You post a cheerleading article and ask "May boys try out?"
You are undoubtedly a homosexual.
You know... women want men who act like men.
Yeah.
I knew you wouldn't post it.
Hit home pretty hard didn't it?
Uh-huh.
Citizen presentations are often at the end of the FW City Council agendas, to allow for the regular business to be handled and out of the way, and to permit city staff to be prepared for the sequence of topics to which they are responsible for.
VOTE VOTE VOTE, not only for city elections also county elections.... early voting started today! As for Mayors.... I think it was way out of line for the young Mayor of Chico to send a letter to the paper for Kevin Burns in his Pct. yes he is a good guy but it does not mean he does a good job. Rob Hawkins has taken care of a private business for many years with many employees, he must be doing something right. As for Kevin Burns when he voted to take the JP office from Alvord to Decatur it hurt alot of small business families including mine. Decatur already had reasons for people to stop and buy when in town. Alvord needed the court to keep a flow of people coming into town that may not otherwise get off of 287. But Burns did not help the situation he just smiled and voted. Now it is your turn get out and VOTE!
Anon @ 2:26 -- You are so right on! WRR Wednesdays used to be the highlight of my week @ the office....pure entertainment via Crazy Town. If I ever scan thru and catch it now? I can't tune away. ;)
barry didnt you get picked up in that raid......
Why is a Dallas person allowed to speak in a Fort Worth City council meeting. If they want the pansy asses, let them have them, but don't bring your filth to Fort Worth. Same goes for the demonstrators. How many of them were from Fort Worth. Very few I would imagine.
It upsets me that people today think they have the right to go out of their way to make others uncomfortable because of of the "oppression" they have been through... when in fact the rainbow lounge was an isolated incident and now a rally cry has been formed from that community for no good reason. Its sickening how they think that they have the right to control others because the majority wont think like them. In today's society the 1% is more powerful than the majority and its sad.
