No Random Thoughts

. . . with the exception that this man committed one of the most horrific crimes I've seen in a while. Dressed as Santa and carrying a gun and a home made flame thrower, eight are now dead and a house was burned to the ground. And three people are still missing.

My daughter texted me last night and asked if I knew anything about a "bad" wreck Christmas night on 380 "under a bridge".

Anyone have any details?

Nothing on the Messenger site.

Nothing justifies what this guy did. It is beyond comprehension. However please hear my point.... do we not always read of these cases committed soon after a divorce. When the dust settles I feel confident this will be another example of a nice, normal guy who was put into a pressure cooker he could not handle. He woke up one day to find that blood sucking divorce attorneys had taken 1/2 of everything he had worked for and his ex-wife of 12 months had taken the 1/2. We will continue to hear of guys who implode as long as divorce laws are so unfairly applied to men/fathers. Divorce law will continue to be unfair to men/fathers because it is this equation which transfers the greatest percent of wealth from the victim into the pockets of attorneys.

Divorce attorneys are the cancer of our society.

this is truly tradgic. i hope that those still missing are alive and ask that all pray for those affected by this event. i have to correct you divorce attonerys are not the cancer of society they just feed the cancers which are those married who get pissed and decided to use our legal system and other routes to hurt the ones they were married to any way they can and men and women both do it but women are the meanest and most vindictive

Man - I'm glad I don't have the issues of the first two posters. I am sure marriage can turn into hell because it is such a close relationship and all your vulnerabilities are just out there.

Luckily, if you work on the problems while they are still small, marriage can be the best gift in life, in my opinion.

I am sorry for the hurt of the first two posters.

9:13 bitter?

anon 9:48 - you are wrong. the court nails the guy 9 times out of 10 both financially and with custody, no matter how unfit the mom is most of the time.

Divorce usally ends up bad no matter how it is handled. When you break up a family no one is going to win. This guy should have just went straight to the suicide but no he had to make others suffer the pain he was feeling.

9:13, divorce attorneys are no more responsible for failed relationships and hatred between two people than a trauma doctor is responsible for the accident that put his patient in the emergency room. What's unfair about a wife (or husband) getting half?

Will this be the bad situation used as an excuse for bad laws restricting firearm ownership?
I bet the next time we hear about it will be from the floor of Congress.

Let me just suggest that all divorce does not end in degenerating relationships. Sometimes both parties can grow and expand in different directions. I was awarded custody of my children in an uncontested divorce and raised two children who are well adjusted and successful. I don't know the particulars of this trajic family. But some are just not able to concede failure and move on.

10:34 says "To 9:30 a.m. - You are just flat ignorant!!!!"

I'm not too swift myself but, I could not find a 9:30 anywhere on up off into here.

Many caring lawyers do everything they can to help the couple resolve their differences. At least that was the situation when a family member went through this.

I once heard a clergy person say that he wished the church wouldn't marry people and legally just give the whole responsibility to those who perform civil ceremonies.

I doubt marriages performed outside the church last any longer than religious ceremonies?

Marriage is hard work either way and many lawyers just simply get a bad rap.
