Texas Supreme Court Slaps CPS

As you will undoubtedly hear the rest of the day and tomorrow, the Texas Supreme Court just announced that it will not touch the lower court of appeals decision by telling CPS, and I paraphrase, "Quit jacking with those families in that compound without any evidence to back up your accusations. Return the kids. Now. Welcome to the United States of America."

And that's nine Republican judges saying that. Edit: It was actually a 6-3 decision.

Edit: Got a kick out of watching Nancy Grace's head blow up because of this ruling tonight. She even put up the telephone number of the Texas Supreme Court while yelling "the court sides with the polygamists!!!!"

Can you imagine the cluster f*** that would cost taxpayers if it had been nine liberal weenie judges that would over turn the lower court?

So, as a non parent what would you do about this Barry? Ask your dear mother what SHE would do.

These Republicans made the right decision. Most children should be with their mothers. This is not political - it is about the love between a mother and a child.

And that bond is stronger than many know........

....even a few lawyers.

Let's compare. Texas voters did not have a referendum on polygamy and then have the Supreme Court strike it down as in California on gay marriage. Isn't it nice to know that Conservative judges don't write law from the bench? Their job is to interpret it.

Maybe those judges like the idea of little........., well, they are Conservative.....

I don't understand why the courts didn't find a place for the mothers and their children to be together during the investigation. Any thoughtful person can understand getting them away from the religious penis heads inside the compound, but from their mothers?

What a messed up situation for all.

If I ain't gettin any, nobody should be gettin any.

My understanding was that the mothers were telling their children to lie to the investigators about their names and other things to complicate or to protect their sect. Maybe that's why they kept the children away from their mothers. Either way something's not right there.

Conservative Judges must think that "Everythings OK when Conservative's get their way" with little married girls.

Something is just so wrong when the law takes precedence over common sense. These children are the victims in all of this - jerked around from pillar to post -
is anybody even thinking of the long term damage to these innocents?

So sad.

I think the CPS's taking ALL the children away was overboard. The supposed threat was to the young girls 12 to 16 years of age. Take those kids out until the facts are learned. Now they're returning ALL of the kids and returning some to the danger of sexual child abuse - even tho the polygamists maintain that their religion promotes this abuse. And when is the State of Texas going to question the marital status of this group? Society needs to clean up this mess – legally.
