This In The Middle Of The Comey Hearings

My first bullet point this morning that Trump doesn't understand that he is not the boss of everyone in the federal government is now the Republican defense of his pressuring the FBI Director. That is, he simply didn't know he shouldn't do that.

Edit: Trump's lawyer responds with a written statement about the Comey hearing. It does not start off well:

Comment by IRS auditor at my last audit review: Ignorance of the law is not a defense. You are still liable, sir.

People do seem to put a lot of stock in the testimony of a guy who couldn't recall that 100s of thousand e-mails, that prompted him to reopen the Hillary investigation, were merely TWO e-mails. If Comey can't discern the difference between a 100, or 100's of thousands or TWO, how can anyone truly count on Comey to be able to discern the intent of the convoluted ramblings of Trump?

Trump is a buffoon but not really any bigger one than Comey. Comey should have been fired for misleading and/or misstating "facts" when he testified to Congress. Trump and his clown posse were too stupid to just fire Comey for being incompetent and untrustworthy when Comey gave them that gift.

People who actually think Trump colluded with the Russians are either idiots or duplicitous snakes. Trump can't collude with his own team much less with the Russians. Trump can't be a bumbling buffoon and some mastermind KGB spy. It's one or the other. We all know, Trump can't be a mastermind at anything. Crazy can't even master his own mind.

If he didn't know exactly what he was doing why did he kick everyone else out of the oval office?

Oh lord, look at mischief defending Trump.

Sorry mzchief, I have to disagree. Yes, Trump could be both an idiot and a Russian conspirator. One doesn't necessarily preclude the other.

But he had his fingers crossed when he talked to Comey. It doesn't count.

Who would you believe? A man with impeccable trust and character, or a man with a shady past & tends to lie. ???

I am disappointed in Paul Ryan's statement that Trump just didn't know the protocol.
The POTUS should not be 'on the job training'.

Totally Disgusted

The entire proceeding was a complete waste of time. If you read Comey's written statement it was crystal clear that it was nothing more than a "cover your ass" move, and that there wasn't one single thing that Trump did or said that was illegal. Requiring loyalty is not illegal-- asking him to lift the cloud over the Russian investigation was not illegal, and -- asking him to let the Flynn investigation go was not illegal.

Comey is a player and a snake. Total waste of taxpayer money.

8:24 AM for the WIN. Perfectly said and to the point. "Just the facts, ma'am. Just the facts". Comey's testimony was political theater and a BIG waste of time and money. I'm ready to scream at all of these yahoos and say PUT UP OR SHUT UP. But, I don't live inside the Beltway. . . .
