Random Monday Morning Thoughts

  • Satan is anti-bullying?:
  •
  • Ken Paxton sending a letter to Frisco ISD about a "Muslim room" (a room which is open for all students for prayer) is beyond weird.
  • UT not going to a bowl game in football and not even qualifying for the NCAA or NIT in basketball is truly amazing.
  • Let's check in on the President this morning:
  • What prompted that? CNN reporting about a Gallop poll:
  • I have no idea why I follow this guy on Twitter and I don't know who he is, but when I saw this last week I decided he is one miserable human being. Tough guy.
  • Chuck Berry has died and Back To The Future kept popping into my head.
  • Tom Brady's stolen Super Bowl jersey has been recovered from an unnamed media member. Our long national nightmare is over.

Uh, the Satanic temple billboard is anti-corporal punishment, not anti-bullying. That's not completely clear from reading the message on the billboard, but it's been indicated in every article and tweet I've seen on the subject, including the one you used for your screenshot. Unless you're trying to make some sort of correlation between bullying and corporal punishment, which drastically downplays the seriousness of bullying. I agree that corporal punishment doesn't have a place in schools these days because of our litigious society. Not because it is bullying.

Chuck Berry was convicted of violating the White Slave or Mann Act for having sex with a 14 year old Indian girl than transporting her across a state line to waitress in one of his establishments.

If UT did not qualify for the NCAA tournament in basketball, then how in the hell did UT play in the NCAA basketball tournament yesterday and beat North Carolina State 84-80 to advance?

Clarification needed:
The guy is a miserable human being because the guy lit up his employees or
because he tweeted about it?

You obviously didn't read the story about the billboard, or the blurb on the screenshot you provided (as noted by previous commenter), which mentions anti-paddling.
the big question mark that forms over my head:
what does religion have to do with corporal punishment in public schools?
there are several smaller question marks regarding how the satanic temple is involved in this.

I haven't read the letter sent to Frisco ISD, but why is there a prayer room of any kind in a public school? Shouldn't the liberals be all up in arms about this because it violates the separation of church and state?

9:51 -

That is the women's tournament. Do we need to teach you the difference between men and women?

Satan is anti-paddling. I don't see that he's taken a stand on bullying.

That billboard needs to be in Decatur

Good point. We are big on Education here in the great state of Texas and as a result of you comment I promise we will clearly define men vs. women in the bathroom bill legislation.

the "satanic temple" has nothing to do with satan, it is a protest group to protest for the purpose of protest...just to stir up controversy...actually check out the website and research before promoting ignorance

The Satanic Temple looks to stand up for the people that they think they can most easily bring into the fold. The bullied, the outsiders that get paddled in small-town schools, etc. Think of that billboard as the little red devil on your shoulder, promising you things--just with a decidedly post-C.S. Lewisinsian twist.

This is not the first time they've had this billboard put up in a town with a paddling controversy.

And I'm pretty sure Satan has taken a stance on bullying, Harry. He seems to be solidly in favor.

BG, you (and I, and any sane person here [a qualifier that may, by the way, exclude you and me, or anyone else who posts here]) have often asked what Republicans would do if Muslims started getting the same religious rights as Christians. The AG's letter answers that clearly--as if we didn't already know the answer.

Clearly you have never had flunkies for employees. They occasionally do need their asses blistered. That does not make him a miserable human. It makes him a business owner hat is trying to make a profit and he refuses to be a baby sitter all the time.

BG, in scrolling down the page, I see that I missed the opportunity of a lifetime to be Lib' Lean's first on location reporter. I was actually in Mobile on St. Patrick's Day.

It won't happen again coach, I swear. Just put me back in.

I regards to the FAKE, ILLEGITIMATE POTUS, Comey et al handed him his head this morning in his testimony before the House Intelligence Committee. And by and large, the Republican members sat there on their hands and let the Democrats have a field day.

In regards to Satanic Folks involving themselves to topical everyday issues, I always enjoyed Vacation Hell Camp in the summer as a kid. Lots of Hot Dr Pepper, Red Hots, and Hot Tamales. And we learned a new curse word every day.
