Random Wednesday Thoughts

  • Looks like I'm going to have to fire up the Liberally Lean Weather Center today.
  • Hey, to the person who sent me the comment about what you observed on Sunday morning. First, you have no right to call yourself a Christian if you exhibit that much hatred. It is the exact opposite of everything Christ taught. Secondly, you have no idea what happened after that. Thirdly, come say that to my face and don't hide behind "anonymous".
  • John Battaglia, who murdered his two daughters near Deep Ellum in a high tone loft many years back, is scheduled to be executed tonight. One of many former wives was fascinated with the case and even bought a book about it.
  • The worst luck in the world was a real estate seller who had signs in Wise County with the exact same unusual name.
  • I'm not much of a golf fan, but I will go to Augusta before I die. Bucket list.
  • I sometimes talk into the mirror to practice what I'm going to say in the future. Then I begin to realize I'm Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver.
  • The great Patty Duke died yesterday. And despite the Hellen Keller movie and The Patty Duke Show, I think her greatest accomplishment was being married to Evil Roy Slade (two people out there will laugh at that.) Amazingly, Slade, played by John Astin who was also Gomez in the Addams Family, celebrates a birthday today.
  • I still shake my head about Trump. And he might win the nomination.
  • Since moving out to the lake, I've learned what small town life is like again. I'll be working in the lawn and someone will drive by, stop, and just want to introduce themselves (and find out who the heck I am and what I'm doing there.)
  • Donkey basketball is a really weird event.

"I still shake my head about Trump." - You realize that your Underoos are in a wad simply because of what Trump says, right? While inevitable Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton actively, intentionally, exposed sensitive national security information to unnecessary risk? (And also possibly sold her influence as Secretary of State to foreign governments via the Clinton Foundation.) Priorities, dude.

Welcome back to small town living. Your girls will see a different side of life.

I never realized Sean Astin was related.

This should be followed immediately by you riding the dinosaur.

As to John Battaglia, how are we, the citizens of Texas, better off with his being executed? For the record, I knew John personally.

Corruption in Houston? Say it ain't so!

I am not proud of how I feel on this subject, but any man who acts so nonchalant in interviews about his admitted murder of his two darling daughters, just to spite his ex-wife, needs to leave this Earth ASAP. Preferably in a vat of battery acid.

I find the Masters golf tournament a beating. It's overblown and over dramatized and the club in Augusta works to hard to mold an image.

They tell used to tell CBS what holes they could show. They control the camera angles. They tell CBS what music to play. They ban announcers who don't conform to the romantic visual. ("The greens were so fast it was like they were bikini waxed".... Gary McCord)

Sure I'm going to watch it....and I agree I'd go.... but I'd have this little nausea while I'm walking around admiring it. I've been to the Ryder Cup (that was on my bucket list) and will go to a US Open or British Open before I touch Augusta.

I like your bucket list mentality though BG..... see it.... want it.... do it.

...and sadly that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to evaluating Hillary's motives and character

"exposed sensitive national security information"...if you read up on this topic; it is incredible how little regard she has had for classified material

Tommy Boy - Do you want all murderers to live?

I still shake my head about Trump.

Some of us who may end up having to vote for him are shaking our heads, too. There are/were better choices in the R party. But this election seems to be all about the discontent, the bombast and the spectacle.

No matter which party wins, I anticipate a bitter harvest.

You disparage a lot of people and I doubt you have ever done it to their face. But you're special aren't you? Yeah, about that....

Google+ Tommy Boy at 9:00...

How would we, the citizens of Texas, be better off with him living?

I mean, if that's the criteria we're using, it's only reasonable that you share with us the benefits of keeping him alive.

I guess Tommy Boy #1 called in a favor. Stay of execution granted.

I can't find the comment, could you please post it or point it out. I want to be mad at "anonymous" too!!!

Actually, I had always considered myself as TommyBoy #1, although in recent years I have been referred to as TommyBoy #2 (haha, get it?). Anyway, as far as a TommyBoy sale goes, I'm willing as long as I end up in a stable home, preferably on the beach somewhere. Some beach.

Your head has probably fallen off with the idiot Hillary cruising to the democratic nomination. Really embarrassing.

No...not so much. How much does innocence cost again?

I admit to a certain degree of "Clinton fatigue" but if GOP chooses Trump or Cruz, I'll have to vote for Clinton!

If these two represent "the angry" just imagine the anger when they abandon their. Promises or cant get them past 60 votes in the Senate or 5 votes at SCOTUS

By the way Cruz and I are Southern Baptist, but we do not think alike......and all or even most Muslims don't either

107 - Argue with the Washington Post, dude. (You are the kind that would argue with a Post, right?) That Hillary Clinton deliberately used non-secure communication when handling sensitive government information has pretty much been proven. Your side's newspaper of choice has said so.

RE: Bucket list

I was able to attend the US Open in 1985. I saw Ben Crenshaw get a hole in one and on Sunday, the famous T.C. Chen double hit.

If you want to get in to the Masters, you need to start working your network now. It is not that easy to score a ticket.

124 - This is not a "gotcha" question, I sincerely want to see your thoughts. Where does the e-mail business register in your consciousness? And did you read the WaPo article? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

It's no secret that I think Hillary Clinton was grossly neglectful (at best) with state secrets, and the idea of the damage she could do as President is terrifying. But I'm not looking for agreement, I want to understand your point of view.

8:51, they'll see a different side of life, that's for sure. And it isn't all good, as seems implied by your comment. Trust me, little girls and boys can grow up just fine, happy and successfully in "the city".

Anonymous said...

Maybe if everyone prayed NOW, then "prayers" won't be needed later because we've prayed the tornado away in the first place. No victims to later "pray for" and for "God to be with".

@1:07

how come you never fire that shot at the commenters who bash our esteemed host over his chosen profession?

but you do make a valid point. Innocent till proven guilty. Now if the Justice Department can grow some balls and charge Madame Secretary she can get her date in court and the argument can be settled once and for all

You have to have people disagree with you so you can present your arguments even though nobody out here gives a damn about what you think or say.

I suggest going to your local Dairy Queen, getting an M&M blizzard, pop a zoloft and calm......down......

Am I the only one who notices that the extreme WK bashing comes us at with regular menstrual cycle kind of timing?

For Christ's sake woman, It's TIRESOME and menstrual-like (or did I mention that already?).
