I'm Officially Concerned About The Media

This was up for at least half the day yesterday. It is the web equivalent of "Above The Fold".  There is a "latest news" graphic at the top. Underneath it are five links which are basically links to ads on the Star-Telegram site.  And then a graphic/link of  More Latest News.  But this is at the top of a news site web page. (I understand the standard newspaper has a real estate section with standard real estate "stories" that are paid ads. That's been going on for forty years).

But this is the home page of the Star-Telegram.

The only other story in view is about Blue Bell which seems to get lots of mentions by all the news organizations. But who could pay for that type of glowing media coverage?

It is news considering the Bass family lives in FW and BB is a Texas tradition.
If you were getting free stores on the news about how well you represent people, you wouldn't be complaining.
If you want to be concerned about the media, be concerned about how in the tank 90% are for the Democratic party.

Because of the years of liberal bias?

A company kills three people and makes half a dozen sick and gets shut down, 1400+ people lose their jobs, and hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue (and the corresponding tax money) is lost. Then the product finally comes back, presumably bringing back at least a portion of that revenue and those jobs.

Yeah, nothing newsworthy about that.

Isn't Cowboys coverage the same thing? Private enterprise having unlimited free exposure and promotion in the FWST under the cloak of "sports news"?

Skippy, Concerned about the media and it's coverage of Blue Bell but not the way they hold a Republican debate? Liberal weenie much?

I am increasingly dependent on LL to bring me the unvarnished journalistic truth. A rare trait in mainstream news.

3:02. We should just ban liberals from everything that upsets them. We will call it the Utopian Laws. We ban them from having wealth, eating meat, owning guns, using any fossil fuels or byproducts such as plastics or lubricants. We should also mandate abortion for any pregnancy they ever have and only permit them to have homosexual relationships going forward. Imagine how good things would be in a few generations.

I understand the new Blue Bell flavor, " Listeria," tastes just like chicken.

When I want ice cream I eat H-E-B brand ice cream. Blue Bell aint all that great to me and I don't like Brenham (home of Blue Bell) since a fairly new truck of mine broke down there. Maybe I should be mad at Ford instead of Blue Bell. Who knows.

Go get some tests on your girl brain Barry.

Ice cream is ice cream. When Blue Bell was unavailable I bought other brands. No tax loss and I suppose employment and revenue were up elsewhere. And the world kept on spinning. But big law suits still pending vs. Blue Bell.

Hey, give Blue Bell credit for spending their money wisely on a public affairs firm that did a proper full-court-press to keep their vanished product in the news and minds of people who could very easily have turned on them.
They seriously took lemons, and made lemonade.
