The Meeting Of The Dons

"How did things ever get so far? I don't know. It was so -- unfortunate -- so unnecessary."

Every thing about this scene is spot on except having judges in your "pocket'  -- based upon my  personal experience, that is not possible. But I just do cases in Wise County. What do I know?

Impossible? Oh, I don't know - Robert Archbald, Robert Frederick Collins, Martin Thomas Manton, Halsted Ritter are a few Federal Court Judges who have been convicted of corruption. The list of State Judges who have been convicted of federal crimes such as bribery, the RICO and Hobbs acts is a little longer. The list of judges who have been convicted of state crimes is probably longer still. Judges, despite the adulation that the justice system showers upon them, do not walk on water.

Besides, Don Corleone was the FRICKEN GODFATHER!! Who says no to him?

Your small town, unremarkable law experience does not give you any insight into the mob's influence in 1940's New York city.
