Breaking News On That County Clerk

I told you was coming.

Story.

Update. Shout out to all my Wise County deputy clerk friends who have to be thankful they weren't put in that situation):

Edit: What will the deputy clerks do? We now have our answer. I just wished they had collectively issued a press release that said, "We put up with a lot of crap and don't get paid enough as it is. Civil disobedience isn't exactly on our radar right now. But, while we have the public's attention, we do have a serious problem in this country with malfunctioning copying machines. For the sake of everything holy, is there a way to keep a MF7460 from jamming before we finish our coffee? Now that we would be willing to go to jail for."

I anticipate a highly rational discourse from the LL crowd on this one!

I've said over and over again that this Gay matter is gonna leave a real bad taste in our mouths and it's cuming true day by day.

She should be okay with this since prison stripes have that slimming effect. Plus, she can work on that new yoga program in solitary.

" LL crowd" and "rational discourse" cannot be in the same sentence and have any credibility

I appreciate the rule of law and separation of church and state in country.

Clerk Davis is a registered Democrat who ran against a Republican for office. The judge who put her in the slammer is a GWB appointee. Pure awesomeness.

And of course, Clerk Davis is doing this for the sanctity of marriage. This is the same Clerk Davis who...

Married her first husband, Dwain Wallace, when she was 18, and divorced him in 1994.

She acknowledged in a 2008 divorce filing having had two children in 1994 while she was not married.

In 1996, at age 30, she married Joe Davis for the first time. They divorced in 2006.

The next year, at 40 years old, Davis wed Thomas McIntryre, though their marriage lasted less than a year. She re-married Joe Davis in 2009.

Religion is fun when you get to pick and choose what parts you condemn others for!

Did the court improperly issue an advisory opinion by asking the deputy clerks what they would do if asked to issue marriage licenses to a same-sex couple? Why else would they have to inform the court of what they would do if such a hypothetical situation arose?

Barry is a typical leftist that is bored and unfulfilled by life, so he desires constant change. It doesn't matter how destructive or foolish the change is as long as it is change.

You leftist are a pathetic lot who will destroy the world.

3:08 -

From what I've read, the judge did so in order to provide the clerk an out. Since five deputies were willing to issue licenses, the judge offered her the opportunity to "not interfere" and thus avoid being in contempt. She refused.

This makes me wonder - have those five deputy clerks been willing to issue licenses this entire time? If the answer is "yes," doesn't that mean that she has not only imposed her religious beliefs on her constituents, but also imposed them on her own employees? Surely the religious liberty crowd can't be okay with that, right? How does the clerk's religious liberty supersede the deputies' religious liberty?

Pretty sure that woman would be all up in arms about 'Sharia Law' if someone forced their religion on her, but is cool with forcing her religion upon others in her capacity as Clerk.

Hypocrisy. How does it work?

God bless her for taking a stand for that which is right and for being willing to face the consequences of it. The flood gates have now opened for the persecution of Christians in our country and the rest of the world. Obama said he would transform the U.S. and he's done it. I think I'd like to have the old version back myself.

I hope all the clerks call in sick for the next week.

I would like ISIS to get hold of those fags applying for a marriage license.

Did she get jail time for doing something illegal? 30 million mexicans did something illegal too, but I don't see them going to jail or being deported. Instead they are given government assistance at our expense. Is this a great country, or what?

Isis is the only thing that can save us from the Gays. They're on the way. Obama has made it possible.

Christians are not being persecuted. They are not getting special treatment like they have had in the past and are butt hurt about having to be treating like all other religions.

The gays and Christians I appreciate the most are the ones who just quietly go about their lives and don't try to FORCE folks to believe the way they do.

All these Bible thumping, flag waving, parade marching fanatics are turning this country into a bunch of bullies.

My goodness, please just get the government OUT of personal relationships all together!!!!

This is crazy, and a waste of time! Stop issuing any marriage licenses, and the gays will forget all about marriage of any kind.

Amyg 9:40, wake up! Christians are being persecuted worldwide at alarming rates and you're part of the problem. Turn on the tv to something besides Bill Maher or even better, start reading......

6:52 am, WTF are you talking about? Prove to us where what you say is true. Religion is the root of all hate and wars. Religion!

The state of Kentucky issues the marriage license, not the federal government while a federal judge sends the clerk to jail forever or until she changes her belief that marriage is between a man and a woman. So she can get a lifetime sentence? And that is okay?

Anonymous said...

Hey Mr Honcho...you don't know the circumstances surrounding her marriages and divorces. Maybe she has been in abusive relationships and believes so strongly in marriage that she keeps trying. In other words, could be for reasons other than her being a bed hopper and a hypocrite. She might want nothing more than to find a good man, which might be hard to do in them there parts.

At first I thought 6:52 was doing a bit, and then I realized...nope.

You're right, 6:52, Christians worldwide are being persecuted. There are places where SOLELY FOR PROFESSING CHRIST they are being killed, abused, imprisoned, etc.

But that's not here in America. No one will kill you for reading your Bible. You can drop to your knees and pray in the middle of the mall, and guess what? No one will stop you. You'll get looks like you're acting crazy, but no one will imprison you. No one will kill you. No one will hit you.

I'm Christian, too. But this American-Christian persecution complex has to stop. It makes us all look foolish. When you stand before Christ at judgment, are you ready to boast about how you withstood such "persecution" in your life as not being allowed to force others to act the way you think they should? Keep in mind, you might be standing next to someone who was killed for Christ.

Time after time in the Bible, God allowed their enemies to overrun them. I am now thinking about gay marriage, bathroom stalls with glory holes, porn, etc. and what relationship the growth of the present day Chinese empire has to that cycle. Israel is just as bad with their gay community and their rights. I guess that is what nukes are for. How are the Iranian nuke and ICMB program's progressing? Or 7.5 pounds of highly enriched uranium reaching critical mass in a football stadium? Barry, handgun control is the least of your worries for the future survival of your family.

802,

>Religion is the root of all hate and wars. Religion!<

You are going to have to back that up. Other than the wars in the middle east...which can be a stretch...how are all wars related to religion?

Revolutionary War? Civil War? WW1? WW2? Korean War? Vietnam?

Liberals are so stupid, and void of knowledge of history.

Ok, 8:30am...

So, square her traditional conservative Christian stance with all those marriages, plus the two kids she had out of wedlock, and honestly tell us that SHE needs to be thumping the Bible over sanctity of marriage, etc.

Render unto Caesar. Judge not. Do your job you swore on a bible to do and let God handle the judging Sin part.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Honcho, She became a Christian four years ago. The marriages and twins out of wedlock were prior to her accepting Christ. She is forgiven by accepting Christ. The gays can also be forgiven if they stop their sodomy and ask. That is the way it has been since the Lamb was sacrificed.
