Sports Illustrated Mentions Decatur and Bridgeport

In it's upcoming edition, the magazine will run a "whatever happened to" story about the stars of Friday Night Lights -- the book, not the movie.

The quarterback of the famous Odessa Permian team has been a long time Decatur resident, and he is the first one focused upon.

It's available online here.

Oh, and the locals may also know his sister:

Funny you should mention Friday Night Lights...I have always avoided watching the seasons on Netflix, but I just finished seasons 1-3. I found it very intertaining. Didn't know about the original charactors of the book. Thanks.

The article should have been titled, Friday Night Losers. Most of these former Friday night heroes look 20 years older than their actual age.

If you've read anything on Buzz Bissinger you know that he's a flaming homosexual. Photos of him at GQ and Deadspin are nauseating. *Shudders*

I thought the book was great. I can't help but relive my High School football days ever time I read it or watch the movie. I always thought we were that good at DHS 75-76
