Ah, it's the age old story. Guy goes to strip club. Guy gets drunk. Guy gets in monster truck and runs over a girl in parking lot. Girl's family gets rich.
Some of you civil lawyers might want to chime in on how tort reform could impact the verdict. I haven't seen a breakdown of the damages yet.

Anybody that would name a bar Spearmint Rhino deserves to be sued.
So, what percentage of responsibility is she liable to for staggering sound in a strip club parking lot at 2:30 in the morning? Mmm? mmM? MMMMMM?
1. Which tort reform?
2. Can't say whether the verdict will be reduced, until we see a breakdown of the verdict.
3. If the majority of the award is in compensatory damages, it will almost certainly not get reduced.
4. If there are a lot of punitives, it very well may be.
5. Appellate courts don't care about nudie bars, just insurance companies and major corporations, so it may still not get reduced.
No doubt his bondsman is driving that travesty now.
One has to wonder how much the jury would have awarded if the guy had been driving a Honda Civic.
I'll grant you that's an after picture, but nothing in the pic adds up to anything unusual happening so there doesn't seem to be any math involved. Other than the cop standing there, it could just as easily be a beforemath pic. Wouldn't get onto the front page of the Mess unless it was a story about the truck

How did the driver only get 3 years in prison? He should have gotten the max for his hair alone.
If that tool would have had a less stupid looking haircut and been driving a Prius and the victim been black there would not have been that ridiculous verdict and we wouldn't have heard about it much less see it on the news and front page of the paper.
