Random Friday Morning Thoughts

  • "He's dying anyway" - White House aide Kelly Sadler yesterday about John McCain. How cruel are these people?
  • Great. Israel and Iran are firing missiles at each other.
  • What? And the story gets worse.
  • 35 years ago. It was a better time:
  • If Fox News will only take you at 3:50 a.m., you must be a star!:
  • I forgot to mention that I fell asleep on the plane on Tuesday on the way back from my seminar. When I woke up, I had may hand on the arm on a woman who just happened to be very large. Me: "Ma'am, I so sorry!" Her: "I don't mind at all."
  • Rudy Giuliani was fired by his law firm. Their official position is that he resigned but there is no question he was fired. Their statement regarding the Cohen/Trump fiasco which Rudy defended: “Speaking for ourselves, we would not condone payments of the nature alleged to have been made or otherwise without the knowledge and direction of a client.”
  • She is expected to walk away and resign because of Trump's treatment of her:
  • There was a body found behind a Fort Worth elementary school
  • The NRA: "Protect the crown."
  • ATT paid Trump's lawyer $600,000 for "advice" on their merger with Time Warner. How's that Drain The Swamp working out for ya?

And here I was thinking we were a constitutional replublic and that, in fact, we fought a war against a monarchy. Those silly history books really got me with that one!

Why can’t you say anything good about all the good things our President has done for the USA?

Trump still Winning

That list is a pretty much perfect example of why '80s music sucked, #4 & #8 being possible exceptions.

How very Christian of Kelly Sadler.

You have the torture experts here but a simple Google search shows the CIA and the Senate committee both concluded that torture does not work and yielded no actionable intelligence. But I suppose reasonable people are to conclude that your readers know more than what we mere mortals are allowed to know.

Cohen's personal finances certainly are exciting. How does one go about obtaining such comprehensive and supposedly confidential information?

I'm sorry Barry, but your airline story sounds like the beginning of a Penthouse Letter. Be careful.

I guess Rudy is not such a rainmaker after all. He brings in new business and gets cut loose.

I sympathize with John McCain and his family for what they are going through. I pray I'll never be faced with that. That being said, if he wanted to die with dignity he would not go out giving the finger to his constituents and those he disagrees with.I'm no fan of him but, my view is everyone needs to keep their mouths shut at a time like this.

RTG: That's a big ... ring.

Good job BG.

Tax revenues are at record levels. I guess the tax cut actually did spur economic growth. There's a good story at Investors Business Daily.

I guess Barry would rather talk about Stormy rather than what is actually good for our country

Ol' songbird John lived his political life as a lie. He lied to the voters in his state and he betrayed them as well as his constituents in the Senate!

No response for the hateful, racist comment yesterday concerning McKinney councilman?

There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with you.

Were you only sorry because she was "very large"? Pretty shallow comment.

The world according to Wordkyle:

Getting personal and private DNC and Clinton information from Russia is good.

Getting personal and private information on Trump payouts and involvement with Russia is bad.

Musically, it was definitely a better time. I'm at a loss though, anytime I try to reconcile that Tupac Shakur, who never made one single rock and roll song, is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2017), while Boston and Def Leppard, eligible for a "long time" (Boston pun intended) have not even been NOMINATED...ever. I have "more than a feeling" about this...nearly "hysteria".

And I'm sure it'll offset the $1T (year after year) deficit.

Hey Skippy, STAY WOKE!! Has Trump launched nukes into North Korea yet? Has Trump fired Sessions yet? If I was a terrorist state and my Muslim president friend gave me 150 billion dollars and a green light to build the bomb and the ok to use missiles to deliver them, I would launch them at Israel also, if the new president backed out of the deal. THANKS OBAMMY!!

Question for Barry. I haven't looked back, but do you recall if you had any negative response to the idiotic professor from Fresno that bashed Barbara Bush after she died? If you did, then your post has some merit. If not, you are just being hypocritical.

As a side note, from my perspective, McCain is most certainly a traitor to his party, and most likely to this country, if you look back at the the things he did while a POW. Not saying, I could have done better in that situation, but he built his entire career on the cornerstone of being a POW, and truth appears to be he wasn't that stalwart in that role.

IN OTHER NEWS the Capture of 5 ISIS big shots = big news. Curious how so important a development is largely overlooked by MSM. Is it because international terrorists no longer represent a significant security threat? Or-more likely-media resolved never to write good news on TRUMP.

90% of all media coverage on TRUMP is negative and yet his approval ratings continue to climb. SPEAKS VOLUMES DOESN’T IT?

Skippy, Is Avennati billing Stormy Daniels for his constant TV time on CNN? If so, who is paying her attorney fee?

* Kelly Sadler's callous statement "It doesn't matter, he's dying anyway." is being reported without any context other than she made it during a discussion about John McCain urging his Senate colleagues to oppose Gina Haspel's nomination as CIA director due to her role in the enhanced interrogation program. There is no explanation given for the intent of Sadler's comment. I'd like to be generous and say that is was her way of saying give McCain a pass on his hypocrisy because he is dying. Afterall McCain did vote for Brennan even though Brennan oversaw the CIA's enhanced interrogation program and Haspel was merely a low-level agent following orders approved by the Senate and Justice Department. Even though McCain has cancer it doesn't mean he's immune to people calling him out for his hypocrisy and bitterness.

Both Republicans and Democrats have, over the past 10 years, hit new lows regarding the animus and insensitivity they exhibit for their opponents. However, Trump is the absolute worst offender. If the boss is a jerk then so too will be his subordinates.

* Isreal wouldn't be firing missiles at Iranian targets in Syria had Iran not fired missiles into Isreal, FIRST. Trust me, if Russia were to fire missiles into the US from Cuba the US would fire missiles at Russian targets in Cuba.

* It leaves me gobsmacked to learn that a blathering buffoon like Guiliani was "employed" by any law firm for any reason other than Guiliani's notoriety. Trump hiring Guiliani as his attorney is more proof that Trump does NOT "hire the best people."

* Trump's unprofessional treatment of Homeland Security chief Kirstjen Nielsen proves he's just as disrespectful toward the women who work for him as he is to the men.

disclaimer: Before that dolt who comments about my objective commentary about Trump takes another swing and a miss at my "wavering loyalty" toward Trump let me make it perfectly clear: I despise Trump with the fury of a 1000 suns. I remain disgusted that Americans put themselves in a position to elect either Crazy or Evil. However, I stand by my belief that the US is better off having Crazy as POTUS than we would have been having Evil.

12:42 The Bank Records are not a part of any required public filing for LLCs. If Cohen was the only active member of the LLC, then he was the only person authorized to permit the disclosure of the company's bank records. And the lawyer's refusal to say how he came about the bank records certainly raises the stink of illegal. Not a good look for a guy today's news stories indicate have had two different bar complaints filed against him.

And to Miz, I say, wonderful use of "gobsmacked". A wonderful word that should find itself into more conversations. Like: I am gobsmacked the Spanish war donkey continues to flout the metoo movement by glorifying the use of sexual torture devices. Three times so far today. Must be a slow day in mom's basement.
