The Campaign For DA

Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts

  • Breaking
  • More Breaking: The chaos continues. Trump has fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Calling Trump a "moron" probably didn't help with his job security, but how that decent guy didn't quit before now is a mystery.  (Shockingly, a Secretary of State Department spokesman just said Tillerson didn't know it was coming and had no idea why it happened. If true, Trump fired Tillerson via Twitter this morning.)
  • Flashback from 12/1/17:
  • And yesterday, Sarah Huckabee Sanders wouldn't name or blame Russia for poisoning an ex-spy in the U.K. with nerve gas. Their Prime Minister did. Tillerson did
  • Package bombs are going off at homes in Austin. We may have a modern day Unabomber on our hands.
  • The helicopter crash in the East River which took the lives of two young Dallas men was more than preventable. The pilot "told investigators that one of the passenger's bags may have inadvertently bumped the emergency fuel shutoff."
  • And this is just in the primary
  • They just keep coming:
  • The Stormy Daniels scandal is delicious. Now we learn that she lives in Forney and that a notary public might have screwed up in not signing Trump's Don't-Tell-The-Public-About-Our-Affair-While-I-Was-Cheating-On-My-New-Third-Wife agreement.
  • There sure looks like a lot of fighting during Spring Break in Port Aransas.
  • A Denton police officer was arrested on allegations of domestic violence (uh, biting) at 5:30 a.m. in the morning. Remember kids, nothing good happens at 5:30 in the morning.
  • The Republican on the committee made a decision without consulting the Democrats. That made Trump go ALL CAPS. You never go all caps. (And he doesn't quite realize the Mueller doesn't care about the committee or that Mueller has information they do not.)
  • Just when I'm about to hit "publish" another one breaks. "Mr. McEntee was removed from the White House grounds on Monday afternoon without being allowed to collect his belongings." What's up with this?:

Is it just me or does it seem like there's a lot of chaos in the White House?

All Trump all the time. Yawn. What goes around comes around, Baylor-boy.

Wait a cotton pickin minute! I lived in Forney for a decade up until 2014. That must be why Daniels looked so familiar when this story started blowing up. I'm sure that's it. There isn't any possible way I could have seen her before...

Rex called a moron a moron. That was strike 1. Rex calls out Russia in the U.K. spy poisoning. That's where dotard draws the line. Nobody picks on his Pootie. OK comrades, chime in about all the "winning"; deflect and deny some more. With Pence also implicated I see value in dragging this out past the mid terms to give a Dem SOTH a shot at POTUS once the whole cabal is indicted and impeached.

NO CHAOS!!!

Working around YOUNG females & being cognizant of looks vs age, you might want to double check the birth certificate of today's RTG. She has all the makings of a 16 - 17 yr old jail bait hook. Particularly w/ those Clintonian "come hither" eyes/ facial expression.

Tillerson was replaced by CIA Director Mike Pompeo. In which of Trump's alternate realities is the guy in charge of all of our spy programs best suited to fill the role of chief diplomat??

Yawn my butt! Disgruntled Drumpf voters are the worst losers. Face it buddy, Barry is just reprinting important headlines, things real patriots care about. You probably picked the wrong horse and are now in denial so I ackn why these reminders are coming at you in ALL CAPS but if you can't handle the smell you have no business being a swamp dweller.

Trump certainly opens himself up for criticism. On the other hand, in his first year:

- He got a new Justice on the Supreme Court.
- He got tax reform through Congress.
- He did away with a slew of federal regulations.
- He rolled back parts of Obamacare.
- He withdrew the US from the Paris climate deal.
- He nullified the Obama-era net neutrality rules.
- He rolled back Obama's Castro-pleasing relationship with Cuba.
- He has overseen the almost total defeat of ISIS.
- He showed support for Israel by declaring Jerusalem its capital.
- The various other accomplishments: travel bans, the wall, donating his salary to charity, etc.

Despite the apparent turmoil in his administration, as US News says: "When it comes to actual policy accomplishments tied to pledges he made on the campaign trail, Trump is actually doing pretty well – whether you like the results or not."

I, for the life of me, cannot cypher why this alleged Russian manipulation of our voting system is a big deal- even if let's say a state the size of California with its electoral weight was to be turned over to foreign voters- say maybe like the Governor of said state signing a law overtly making foreigners/ invaders eligible through something like a motor voter bill.
Naw, never happen. Right?

Skippy, Has Trump made his picks for the March Madness tournament. I haven't seen anything on the news about it. When Obammy made his picks it was all day news coverage.

It is certainly different to have a president with leadership skills. He even fires those that have security breaches....rather than hire Hillary who was the ultimate security breach with illegal servers in her basement like our last buffoon who was in the oval office.

Forney and Decatur are holding a joint beauty pageant for spring break. The winner will be crowned Miss Forney-catur. I said Forney-catur.

- He got a new Justice on the Supreme Court -- this was not because of anything he did. Someone died (not a Trump accomplishment) and the senate refused to confirm Obama's timely pick (not a Trump accomplishment)
- He got tax reform through Congress -- If by reform you mean massive budget deficit, sure.
- He did away with a slew of federal regulations -- who needs clean air and water, anyway?.
- He rolled back parts of Obamacare -- just the last part that made it affordable, he has failed to repeal it as he promised, much less replace.
- He withdrew the US from the Paris climate deal -- see above re: clean air and water
- He nullified the Obama-era net neutrality rules -- this is universally disliked except by industry lobbyists--and you know who it's going to hurt the most? Chuckleheads in rural areas like you who will have even less competition than you do now. But hey, congratulations.
- He rolled back Obama's Castro-pleasing relationship with Cuba -- every president since Kennedy has threatened to do away with the embargo as a way to overthrow Castro, but if you think keeping a Castro in power is good, well, OK, I guess.
- He has overseen the almost total defeat of ISIS -- If you think one ounce of either a win or loss in the ME is because of a Trump policy, of which there is none, well, you're dumber than you look, and that would be hard.
- He showed support for Israel by declaring Jerusalem its capital -- something even many Israelis thought was the wrong move, and since when has America not supported Israel?
- The various other accomplishments: travel bans, the wall, donating his salary to charity, etc. Unconstitutional, not yet built and not paid for by Mexico as promised, I guess charity beats payoffs to porn stars, etc....

- He got a new Justice on the Supreme Court.
*That should have been filled by Obama but for Rep obstruction

- He got tax reform through Congress.
*That blows up the deficit - what happened to deficit hawk Reps?

- He did away with a slew of federal regulations.
*Including the one that was enacted after Deepwater Horizon to make the platform owners inspect that one part (can't remember what it's called) that caused the blowout

- He rolled back parts of Obamacare.
*I'm sure everyone with pre-existing conditions is so thankful

- He withdrew the US from the Paris climate deal.
*List of all the countries not in the deal: USA

- He nullified the Obama-era net neutrality rules.
*And when you have to pay extra to watch college football because Comcast and TimeWarner are in a tizzy, remember that.

- He rolled back Obama's Castro-pleasing relationship with Cuba.
*Yeah, 40 years of deliberately isolating Cuba has really worked out well - we should never, ever try something new

- He has overseen the almost total defeat of ISIS.
*Don't forget the resurgent Taliban

- He showed support for Israel by declaring Jerusalem its capital.
*Why is support for Israel a good thing?

- The various other accomplishments: travel bans, the wall, donating his salary to charity, etc.
* Oh, that travel ban that keeps getting overturned in court?
* The wall Mexico is going to pay for? That's the one you mean, right? Not the other one that he's asking Congress to pay for
* While lining his Trump Org pockets by promoting his clubs

Oh be honest the winning side sees no harm in Russian collusion, . If Clinton had won and evidence of possible Russian efforts on her behalf came up you and all the right wingers would be screaming for impeachment now ! Hypocrisy has no political party . All Americans should condemn Russian interference or any other country if true and for any political candidate

Trump is winning at being a narcissistic jerk! Demeaning Rex Tillerson by announcing his firing in a tweet! Really brave and classy!

And he isn't keeping the big campaign promise that Mexico will pay for the wall!

And he and Rick Perry have great chemistry, so he may make him in charge of Veterans Affairs! Poor veterans!

Anonymous said...

4:37 - Trust me. It would be a relief to have Perry in charge of the VA. He can do much less damage there. Perry is more suited to 'big picture' stuff rather than detailed policy.

Well of course certain people will either a) Disagree with Trump's accomplishments or b) Refuse to allow him credit for anything. The thing is, you guys can call Trump all sort of names, give him credit or not, but the facts are what they are. You're arguing with reality. Trump's agenda has advanced significantly in his first year. With every success, that "moron" is defeating you.
