Random Monday Morning Thoughts

  • Who is the hardest working man in show business?
  • Wise County Sheriff's deputies are running traffic on 380 inside the city limits of Bridgeport on 380. That was unheard of back in the day.
  • And Another (Texas). Probably just a court update. I think I've posted that pic before:
  • "(CNN) On Friday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie ordered the beaches across the Garden State closed -- a reaction to the ongoing budget impasse in the state's legislature."
  • And immediately comedy ensued:
    Planet of the Apes

    From Here to Eternity
  • In case you missed it, Trump continued to show mental instability on Twitter over the weekend. (He stole it from a Reddit user.):
  • And it did not go unnoticed by the author of the Harry Potter novels:
  • And from the one of the most far right journalist in the country:
  • Delkus has invaded Wise County's border?
  • Mrs. LL's brother visited over the weekend and brought two high end drones with him. They were equipped with hi-def cameras and had a range of four miles. They were equally creepy and fantastic.
  • Heard over the weekend: "Marriage changes people."
  • How come firework technology has not improved? (Side note: Nothing was more fun than "bottle rocket fights" as a kid. Having to duck as one goes screaming at your head was one of life's greatest joys. Side note #2: The Ticket reminded me of the firework term "punk" this morning. I hadn't heard that term in years. You always needed a punk.)
  • Random Wise County PSA:
  • A North Dallas teacher and her husband were found dead due to gunshot wounds on a New Mexico road. She posted this a couple of days before.
  • The Texas Monthly constantly refers to Gov. Greg Abbott as weak and ineffective. That's true.
  • And we will all now have a Sheryl Crow earworm all day long:

SO JUST TO BE CLEAR.....

When President Trump posts a bit of humor (in this case body slamming CNN WWF style he is "mentally unstable"?

But when BSG posts this never ending blog bit of humor, you are a genius?

Yea right. What a joke.

Sure Trump is arrogant and egotistical so what.
He hates PC and the hypocritical socialist media, which is the alt left incarnate.
He is smart and loves this country, which means (more times than not) he will fall on the side of conservatism.

TRUMP!!!

I have to make the drive from the tip of S Texas to Idaho for work quite often- the two areas I dread the most is S Texas and New Mexico. There is a common denominator there- and they both resemble each other save the natural terrain. New Mexico has stifling gun laws as far as being able to travel defensively- but the old adage about being tried by twelve rather than carried by six holds true in New Mexico- it is rough.

The Governor of New Jersey is at his house. Which is on the beach. He's maybe 20 yards off his own backyard. And beaches in New Jersey are very much open.

I am so surprised no one has reported the sighting of a beached whale on a deserted beach in New Jersey!

Are there other animals that need breastfeeding help? I see pigs and other "dumb" animals nurse a dozen at once; and there usually isn't even a spare available.

Heard over the weekend: "Marriage changes people."

What a profound statement! I overheard that a transgender operation changes people.

The Texas Monthly is a Liberal Rag. You know that. Stop acting like the the folks at that magazine have journalistic integrity.

Bill Kristol is a far right journalist? Are you a loon? He is not conservative. He is a centrist and an elitist and he despises Trump. Can you at least be honest? I could respect that.

I'm disgusted at Trump inciting violence. I think they should perform plays that depict him as being stabbed. I'd like to punch him in the face(Robert DeNiro).

Who is the hardest working man in show business?

Here it is 11:00 and you haven't listed any posts. Are you taking the day off? Is your office filled with illegals needing your help with their DUI cases? Out chasing ambulances? Kayaking making a statement about resisting Trump? Playing with your brother in law's drones?

Hardest working man in show business is.....President Donald Trump.

Barry is not the President of the United States and is not the figure head for our nation and the person who represents our nation to the rest of the world.

Anonymous said...

@12:19

Yes, but much like Trump, Barry wrongly assumes he is always the smartest guy in the room.

Why does Trump now remind me of the One Night Stand that won't go away?

Niall Ferguson, a British historian and senior fellow at the Hoover Institution in Stanford, California, said in May: “I think one of the things Guardian readers, and their counterparts on the American coasts, don’t want to think about is the possibility that despite his obvious ineptitude, Trump might actually be successful.

“I said last summer to a bunch of liberal friends: ‘Your worst nightmare is not a Trump presidency; it’s a successful Trump presidency.’ The successful Trump presidency scenario is one in which, despite it all, the economy does better thanks to deregulation and tax cuts, foreign policy delivers some big wins on North Korea, the Middle East.

“It doesn’t take an awful lot for a president to start looking good. If the expectations start really low, which they have done, it may be one win, and I definitely don’t rule out a kind of ‘success in spite of himself’ scenario. And then you begin to wonder if a left-of-Clinton Democrat in 2020 would be blown away."

One description I read bears paying attention to: Trump's not presidential but it looks like he is beginning to redefine what it means to be presidential. He’s not going to take attacks lying down but he’s going stand up for himself and give it back.

"He’s not going to take attacks lying down but he’s going stand up for himself and give it back."

This is exactly the issue. He forgets he is the President and shows zero respect to the office he holds. "I'm the President and you're not" is worthy of SNL, but the the office he holds.

To think he is some kind of Presidential paradigm(you should know that word) shift is ridiculous.

Trump mocking fake news with a tweet using fake wrestling is brilliant!! Trump said that we would get tired of winning but I don't

Once again, Barry is not the President of the US.

So if Barry is or is not the smartest person in the room is moot regarding the behavior of our President.

What Sheryl Crow earworm are you talking about? The song about how we should use one square of toilet paper when we drop a duece to save the planet from global warming?

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure he is standing up for himself. Appears he just whines, cries, & stomps his feet. Then he name calls because he can't thin of anything intelligent to say. Hmmm, sounds like a 6th grade bully or cry baby.

I am outraged!

Not really. It just seems like everyone else is outraged at everything AND an expert on everything.

I figured maybe if I acted outraged too, then I'd look smart.

"He's not acting presidential" - I thought the same of Bill Clinton. Obama's behavior since leaving office is not in line with that of previous presidents; i.e., "not presidential."

Trump is doing things differently, that's for sure. But since he IS the president, his behavior is by definition "presidential." You may not like how he acts, but he's refused to conform to the previous set of rules that automatically put Republicans on the defensive. He's counter-attacking rather than passively taking the blows.

Is it effective? He's got the Liberal media in an uproar and off balance. Democrats have lost every morsel of rationality, along with their credibility. The Russian "controversy" is, as Van Jones said, "a big nothing-burger." The Democrats' desperation is marked by how strongly they cling to this phantasm. So in all these senses, Trump's methods are effective.

Welcome to the new (real) world.

And he has the GOP in sync, right?

GOP owns the House, the Senate, the Executive branch and some would say the Judicial branch, and they still can't get anything done.

It is very clear to me that GOP leadership is not embarrassing the current President. They don't want to get burn marks when he flames out.

In the meantime, the President will continue to show how big an ass hat he is to the rest of the world.

Hardest working man in showbiz eh... Had to end sometime.

I understand your bitterness. All his boorishness, all his pettiness, along with every conspiracy you guys can cook up, and still he's president. Despite your best efforts you just can't get him out of office.

He's not a traditional politician so he doesn't understand that as a Republican he's supposed to take his beatings without fighting back. I don't know how you guys get to sleep at night. God help you if the country starts doing better.
