Someone Mentioned This The Other Day - I Hadn't Heard About It

Dashcam footage of a traffic stop involving a woman who later died when her car went into the Missouri River has been released.

The footage was released Tuesday as the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that drug intoxication was a factor in 20-year-old Toni Anderson’s accidental death. She reportedly had ethonal, cocaine and amphetamines in her system, according to the Kansas City Star.

I've watched thousands of DWI videos, and I've never seen anything like this. There are times after watching one when I'll think to myself, "I can't believe he was arrested!" but I've never said to myself, "I cannot believe he let him go." Never. After viewing this video, I can't believe he let her go.  The fact that field sobriety wasn't done is mind-boggling.

There isn't much to the video except a brief conversation. But it is enough.

This is where she ended up:

So you feel like you can make that judgment from watching the video but never seeing the girl on video? She clearly said she was just sick and not feeling well. Maybe the officer believed her and did not smell alcohol? Or maybe that was the cops devious plan all along? I'm gonna let this obviously drunk young girl go in hopes that she will drive into the river. You never cease to amaze me BG.

How about the fact that from the photo, there are no barricades, no lights, no signs warning dumb-asses they are about to drive into a river? There have been multiple cases of people driving into lakes and rivers that have nothing wrong with them other than they are unfamiliar with the area. But lets blame the cop for not arresting her.

Funny. If BG had said "they did the right thing", you Wise County chuckleheads would come out of the woodwork to say he was wrong and good riddance to one more drunk driver that could have gilled you our your grandpappy. Now that he says they should have arrested her, y'all bitch about that?

Cops have to deal with too much. Damned if they do, or if they don't. Hey, the cop is the only person on earth, apparently, that was at least undertaking an effort to protect this person's life. She had a chance. She could have cooled it. Called someone. I think what cops need is "booth support"; the ability of their superiors, or a retired judge that's hired...or someone that can look in real time; live feed, and provide counsel and support to officers in certain situations. But, people would scream about that, too, probably. Too invasive. Too accusing. And so on. As long as everything comes around to blaming cops, we're good I guess.

She was kinda rough looking.

That is a HARD 20 years old in my opinion.
Basing his judgement on I am sure as he says thousands of video perusals something is probably amiss if he says so. I bet he us correct- any other person would have been field tested.
Something is up. He either knew her already or wanted some of that sweet, sweet stripper booty.

Odds are chief, you don't watch many police videos where they were released...

So why would you randomly be watching one thinking "I can't believe they let her go"...

Zing!

FYI, she worked at a strip joint called Chrome in KS and was allegedly on her way to another strip joint when she was stopped.

If you listen carefully to the conversation, you can hear her reference Chrome.

I agree with you on this one BG. But she should have called someone to come get her or help her sober up before driving home. The reason cops get you off the street is to protect you and others...I think he failed in his job.

Because he doesn't see many where they were released...?

Pow!

The LEO ran a stop sign near the end of the video, just saying...
