Firing It Up

Then, when it rains hard in some remote area of North Texas, Channel 5 will be ready for action. At 5 in the morning they'll dispatch the "rolling thunder" truck or whatever the heck it is in a desperate search for "trouble" to report on...anything will do because they need a live feed; even if nothing is happening...but wait! We found some gated, private semi-paved road leading into some little used acreage in the darkness. Cut to the field reporter who tells presumably hundreds of thousands of viewers across DFW that "this road is flooded, and so it may impact your commute". Whose commute? An armadillo's? Probably not even.

coincidentally, the Houston Chronicle reported that an armadillo was rescued from flood waters on Monday
