The Fox Business Channel Just Blew My Mind

Is Hannity the editor over there?

(For the very few of you who don't get it -- maybe the "speaks volumes" guy -- the Super Bowl is a 100% guaranteed sell out since at least Super Bowl III, Attendance levels are now based solely on how many people the venue will hold.)

So do these girls know this, and did the story anyway to fill 3 mins, or are they that stupid?

They have to make stuff up to fill air time. It's that simple.

Forbes and other news sources have been reporting essentially the same story the last few days.

Absolutely stupid report. Attendance is solely dependent upon the stadium capacity. It is always sold out. TV leadership is variable. FOX swings and misses again.

I suppose 12:06 meant "viewership".
Wordy, can you cite the Forbes articles? I doubt they are as dumb as these Fox people.

12:41, no way Wordkyle will come through with a citation. He's got nothing.

Bu's comment is correct.

The Super Bowl is already sold out. The total ticket count is limited by stadium capacity.

Some of you must have forgotten how JJ brought in extra seats at the Death Star and how the local Fire Marshall prevented some seats from being used.

Anyone who thinks this story is legit needs to listen to it again, noting that some tickets can be had for as little as $800 each.

That my friends, is not an issue for the NFL.

Fox are idiots but in their defense....attendance and sold tickets are two different data points. You can buy a ticket and not attend.

So here we have Fox Business crafting an entire story about dwindling Super Bowl attendance figures apparently from a random article from a Forbes.com contributor which has since been edited to remove talk of actual Super Bowl attendance figures. You really can’t make this stuff up, can you?

oh guys. Can you not google "attendance Super Bowl 2015"? No, I suppose not. Here you go.

The NFL Braces For Less Travelers To Super Bowl XLIX - Forbes
Experts predicting lower than normal Super Bowl attendance - WDAM, Mississippi; also Tucson News Now; KPHO, Phoenix; Got News Wire, Mesa; WISTV.com, Columbia, SC and so on. You get the gist.

One quote from the stories: ("Ticket industry officials believe not as many out of town fans will follow their teams to Glendale this year for the big game")

The Fox report screwed up comparing the game attendance, but the story was essentially correct otherwise.

WK

You are an idiot.

The NFL, is going to get their money. The original tickets were sold, all of them, at face value.

5:26

Wow, you reference media from Mississippi, Mesa, AX and Columbia, SC.

Wow, with those references, you gotta believe!

630 - I don't care whether you believe or not. I earlier said "other news sources" and I cited those to show that a variety of news outlets over a wide geography reported basically the same thing Fox did. But you knew that, didn't you?

You guys are so primed for a lynching you don't even care what the facts are anymore.

So you are saying, your 5:26 post was pointless, as is the 7:55 post.

1209 - Nope, not at all, unless you consider it casting pearls before swine. How did you arrive at your conclusion?

Liberals are such idiots.

Wordy, did you see that airlines are adding many more flights to Phoenix and using bigger planes? Guess they don't read your sources or your comments.
