Obama's "Lipstiick On A Pig" . . .

. . . is driving me nuts. At least the Republican reaction to it is. Rush has ranted about it all day. Sean Hannity the same. And McCain, in a disgraceful act, is trying to capitalize on it with a "web ad". It had been on youtube.com but it was taken down due to a copyright violation of Katie Couric's image. It can be seen on his web site if you root around just a little bit. Boys, it was a figure of speech. McCain might want to worry about Iraq, high gas prices, a staggering budget deficit and national debt, and the average American struggling to make ends meet. Edit: What's most shocking is that Obama's comments are prefaced by the graphic that reads, "Barak Obama on Sarah Palin." I can't believe McCain approved that lie. I thought he was better than that. Edit: CBS has released a statement: "CBS News does not endorse any candidate in the Presidential race. Any use of CBS personnel in political advertising that suggests the contrary is misleading."

Honestly, when Obama said, "You can put lipstick on a pig but, it's still a pig" I thought he was talking about his wife.

Hes already got that figured out, obama fan!!!!!!!!!!!!. You need to worry when Obama gets in and dont know s---!!!!

It doesn't make a rats ass. If the Republicans ended all wars, brought about world peace, ended world hunger and ended all human suffering, you stinking yellow-dogs would bitch about how they accomplished it.

He can take care of all that later-the public isn't smart enough to really worry about that anyway.

He has to make sure that political freak of nature OBAMA doesn't get elected POTUS first.

Is McCain the pig and Palin the lipstick?

My Lord! ENOUGH WITH THE FRIGGIN' LIPSTICK!

I can't even remember who stands for what.

R&R's comments are typically insipid and petty, but that one today is simply disgraceful. Shame on you, R&R. Grow up.

To paraphrase Vincent Vega:

"Obama shoulda better known better." Seems like his carefully-chosen words are backfiring on him.

Let's face it -- this is the first time Obama has been hit hard during the campaign, and he's not handling it well. His side doesn't know how to handle Governor Palin.

One thing you can count on, though -- Democrats will start slinging mud very soon, using information provided by the crack "dirty laundry" team of 30 lawyers they sent to Alaska.

Meanwhile, we're not supposed to mention Muslims, Obama's middle name, William Ayers, Rezko, Jeremiah Wright, race, Chicago corruption; Liberalism, socialism or communism; raising taxes, Obama's lack of experience, lack of achievements or lack of legislation; Barack Obama's father's bigamy or abandonment of his family; Michelle Obama's hatred of America (until her husband won the nomination;) "community organizer;" lack of patriotism or lack of judgment; Obama's elitism; his disdain for middle America and how we cling to our "guns, religion and bigotry...."

Sounds fair.

All you goobs (Barry included) need to stay away from The Huffington Post before you catch the brain rot.

Huh, I thought muslims weren't even supposed to talk about pigs.

Well, imagine that- even I can be wrong once in a while.

As for Americans "struggling to make ends meet" -- maybe we should curb our appetites for "stuff": expensive cell phones, big screen TV's, Ipods, expensive clothes, expensive cars, expensive houses, DirecTV, big vacations, etc.

Our standard of living is so much higher than our parents and grandparents ever dreamed of living...but where they saved, did without and paid cash for their purchases, modern Americans want instant gratification and will take on huge amounts of debt to get it. And then complain about how hard it is to get by.

Times are not hard -- we're just soft.

And Obama needs to worry about Iraq, high gas prices, a staggering economy and the average American and quit worrying about pigs and lipstick.

house of r and r, I'd be careful with those rocks you're lobbing. Your house is looking quite transparent and fragile. Thankfully that nappy weave covers most of your face.

Our energy needs have been met. I just purchased a tire gauge and am now running on 32PSI.

Anonymous said...

Obammy, Thanks for suggesting that I inflate my tires to the proper pressure. I am now saving so much gas that I am thinking of taking a vacation and visiting all 58 states.

Barry, holy smoke brah, it's all over with- accept it and moveon.org I mean get over it. At least give up on nonsense like this, I've been digging in while I'm off today and studying the issues and I've face palmed over the stupid lipstick bit so much when I saw yours my hand was tired and one of my fingers poked me in the eye.

Watch the Keith Olbermann interview with Obama. If you can still vote for that guy after seeing him yammer and stammer with the softballs Olbermann tossed him there's simply no hope.

What will that dimwit do when a cold blooded killer gangster like Putin stares him down and calls him on an issue? Stand there and prattle on for a few minutes, adjust his tie 47 times and them poo his pants you say?

Oh, you're probably right, you have him pegged better than I thought.

I know a guy who worked backstage when Obama mad the lipstick/pig retort. He said Obama WAS actually talking about his own wife but, he made a Freudian slip and referenced a chimp with lipstick.

It's true, I know a guy.

Your correct McCain does need to worry about all the things you mentioned. Obama also needs to be concerned with the same issues. The fact still remains that the majority voted to proceed with Iraq so the Dems are as much to blame as the Republicans. Democrats have control and have done nothing to improve the economy. How do you explain that so far under their control we have more unemployment, triple digit increases in fuel costs, higher taxes coming for all, which is not their fault. We will have to pay for the war. If Obama and McCain want to move the country forward it will be through the creation of more jobs, addressing the immigration issues, heck lets legalize as many as possible using a plausible criteria that will introduce the tax revenue. Decatur ISD student population is at 39% Hispanic population. The percentage of illegal students is not known because of privacy acts they cannot ask. The point here is there is more at stake than just a lipstck war of words. We have serious issues and need serious solutions, not just promises.
Why is there an Abortion issue ?
I choose to be pro-life, but I respect the right of you to be
pro-choice, why is that not acceptable. We have the right to worship as we desire, end of discussion. It is not an issue that gets the attention that it does and has. In my opinion Roe vs Wade was a historic ruling insuring the freedom this country was founded upon. A right to choose. Okay enough ranting.

have you ever pondered the similarities between lipstick and cigars

R&R - that was funny!

wordkyle - preach on brother! Right there with ya!

McCain talked about the "lipstick on a pig" at least 3 times this year in regard to Hilary's health plan. He has a former speech writer that wrote a book entitled...you got it...."Lipstick on a Pig" about the spin on political issues.

But when Obama says it in reference to the McCain's same old, same old politics, Obama must be calling Palin a pig???? And why? Because Palin used the term lipstick in her speech! Unbelievable. THat ad is so deceptive - this is a new low.

I thought McCain was better than this too, but he's not obviously. He'll say anything or do anything to win. He's no maverick, he's just Republican politics as usual.

Happy with the last 8 years? Then vote for McCain for another 4 of the same.

As for me, EIGHT IS ENOUGH. Obama 08 is the only one that has any chance of bringing any real change.

Barry,

I really thought you were smarter that this Obammy rhetoric. I can't beleive you of all people, who is still scared to go to sleep at night because of what might be out there, would trust Obammy to keep you safe. Not me.

Anonymous said...

Just like Hitler said, if you repeat a big lie enough times, with enough fervor, people will think it's true - the bigger the lie the better.
That is exactly what you hard-liners are doing about Obama. I think some of you even believe your own lies.

Go to Wal-Mart and buy "The Case Against Barack Obama"

GREAT READ!

There were still a few copies left when I checked yesterday.

It is so sickening that R/R and all the other Repubs think that insulting others is a class act. These people are what is so freaking wrong with America. Win at all cost, screw the others. Kinda reminds me of Enron types. You know, lie cheat and steal the election types. I hope your lawn guy pees on your exotic roses..

I think the panel judging "America's Got Talent", "that British guy, Sharon Osborne and that other old '80's hunky American guy", should be able to pick our next POTUS......

I'm pretty sure they would tell Mrs. Palin just what they told that little four year old singer........"You're really a good singer (politician), and you remembered all the words, but, you're still a little off, hon, so, nope, NOT YOURS! Try again next time.

You know with the exception of minimum wage going up which had no effect on me except now I get to pay more when I shop or eat, I'm pretty pleased with the past eight years.

I sold a house in 2001 for a nice profit, bought a much bigger one at a cheaper interest rate, and then refinanced it a year later for even better rate. I am self employed and business has been real good. My only complaint is I pay to much in taxes and that will only get worse if BO is elected (I'm not quite to the 250 mark but hope to be in a few years).

The last thing I want to do is pay more in taxes so the lazy people of the USA don’t have to work as hard. 15 years ago I made a 1/3 of what I make now. Hard work and smart spending does pay off.

R&R's voter registration card has been recalled due to stupidity.

Give it up, grrrllllllll.

Well now, the Bible states that God brought forth LIGHT from the DARKNESS, and it was good. Soooo...that "reference" has been around for quite some time. BUT, If'n I were to say that now, as DARKNESS tries to approach, we have all been saved by the LIGHT," I would expect folks to scream......RACIST REMARK!! (Obama being the darkness and Palin being the light.) I guess it is all in PERCEPTION...how we PERCEIVE what is said. Obama can cover, make fun, whatever...about his "pig/lipstick" comment, but let me assure you......... the WOMEN of the world perceived his comment as gender discrimination!!! Is that any different than racism?? noooooooo! I could say that that the "light saving us from the darkness" is a figure of speech too.....but there are many dark folks who will say , "what kind of rasist are you!" Obama showed his true COLORS... (again, figure of speech here) when he made this lipstick remark so very close after Palin made the "difference between a bulldog and a hockey mom is lipstick" remark that he KNEW, what he was doing. He's scum....he's as racist/discrimanitory as Oprah Winfrey is and the WOMEN of the world are smart enough to see this!!! DARKNESS has been overcome by the LIGHT!!!

Giving up your voter registration card due to stupidity will give victory to McCain in a landslide.

mccain used that same reference early in the campaign trail and CNN just replayed it.

um, why is it a big deal now? sounds like the mccain group is grasping at every straw. it aint gonna work.

Obama will bring change alright- he'll change the countries name to United Socialist States Of America.

Even the people who think they are benefiting won't like it though.

Anonymous said...

If Obama did not get the insinuation before it flew out of his big mouth, he is much less intelligent that I thought...and I have never thought that he was very intelligent anyway. Again, we are so tired of his big mouth and meaningless chatter. It was his enabling press buddies that spread his words not the McCain campaign.

What's the big woops with them?

Eventually the candidates may actually get specific on their view of the country's problems and their solutions. These side shows that the McCain bunch is promoting are tiresome.

Did anyone watch Palin's lightweight interview tonite? When asked about the "Bush Doctrine" she was clueless. When asked whether going to war with Russia would be justified over their incursion into Georgia, she actually said, "perhaps." Oh yeah, war with the second biggest nuclear arsenal in the world over a former Soviet state. To me, this is not a vital interest of the United States worth risking a nuclear war. Palin is good looking but a real lightweight.

Whoa...everytime I start to think there is hope for America and its people, I can always depend on this blog to smash that dream...at least temporarily...Geez. Thank for the downer, nr

I'm sure Palin has a good lot to learn about our Washington gov. So would Biden. Most jobs (no matter what they are) are on the job experience. I truly believe that if ANYONE REALLY knew what all is involved in the Presidency/Vice-Presidency, no one would even run. They'd have to be crazy! God Bless this woman who is accepting this challange! Instead of picking her apart take a look at what qualifications she does have and what kind of a quick study she is. She has AT LEAST already run government in her state. Sounds like with that, she's already ahead of the game over Obama who is running....not for VP, but for PRESIDENT!! In fact, I'd vote for Palin for President before I'd vote for Obama!

Politics in America is a disgrace.

Do we really want to vote for either candidate?

At this point I'm not!
