Random Monday Morning Thoughts

  • Talk about police overkill. That high speed chase on Friday by the 18 wheeler in Arlington led to an unnecessary standoff, and the police came out in numbers and gear which would have allowed them to overthrow a third world country.  They even had an unnecessary "sniper." I promise you, give me any of our last three Sheriffs (Ryan, Walker, Akin) and two competent deputies and that guy would have walked out of his truck in five minutes.
  • A funny moment was when Fort Worth PD tweeted that they wanted a helicopter to back off so they could hear. KXAS then said on their broadcast, "We are going to back up the helicopter so they can hear." This followed:
  • In maybe the worst "look at me!" moment I've seen in a long time, the Fort Worth Police Chief showed up at the scene.
  • Adam West, the original Batman, has died. Man, I had forgotten how funny that show was (although as a boy I thought it was nothing but a true drama.)  And when you have Batman surfing in a bathing suit, you know you have comedy gold:
  • And how can you not love lines like this:

  • The way-too-early discussion of who will receive the governor's appointment to replace John Fostel as district judge has begun. There seems to be one obvious choice.
  • The Alvord dad/daughter photo has made it to CNN:
  • Then again, it doesn't take much to make it to CNN these days:
  • What does this even mean?
  • Trump said in a news conference on Friday that he is "100%" willing to testify under oath. Anyone believe that? That would end his Presidency in a New York minute because he cannot speak without lying. It will never happen voluntarily.
  • This is what Trump meant?
  • There was a very confusing "Anti-Sharia-Law" protest this weekend. Nevertheless, this trooper vs. protester vs. photographer photo makes me laugh for some reason:
  • I almost ran over a raccoon this morning.
  • The testimony of AG Jeff Sessions this week may be more entertaining than Comey's. He's admittedly lied about his past contact with Russia, and he's not that bright. He might get mauled. (But it is still up in the air whether his appearance before the Senate committee will be public.)

Trump tell the truth under oath? That's like asking a dog to do calculus. His brain is just not set up to do that.

The sharia law protest was confusing? Seemed pretty straight forward to me. Oh, wait, you're a a liberal.

Jeff Sessions is not that bright? Do you just pop off like this because someone is a conservative? He has a pretty nice list of accomplishments in his life. Maybe you're just not that bright BG.

I think reporters could dare the President to do almost anything, and he'd take the bait if he thought it would make him look good at that moment.

"Andrew Jackson once wrestled a bear. In this age where Americans are looking for strength and decisiveness, would you as President have the courage to wrestle a bear, too? Nancy Pelosi said on CNN today that you're afraid."

Adam West and Van Williams. 2 great actors!

10:49, Maybe this was your point, but it WAS a lie under oath, and it caused Clinton to be impeached. His impeachment trial didn't result in removal from office, but he WAS impeached for the perjury. Trump has done far worse, already.

If Trump tapes his conversations, he is the biggest idiot of all time. If he testifies under oath, he'll lie like he lies every sentence. The man lies about things that don't matter. He has no integrity. However, Congress will never do anything about it. For those who keep bringing up Hillary: nice try, but you elected a president who takes bribes from countries that have attacked us in the past and will most likely support attacks in the future. You did that, so own it.

In maybe the worst "look at me!" moment I've seen in a long time, the Fort Worth Police Chief showed up at the scene.

The absolute worst look at me also happened in Fort Worth. It happened after Wendy Davis' campaign office door was set on fire. Fort Worth officials held an impromptu press conference with 3 people in front of the media. The Fort Worth mayor Betsy Price was one and the FWPD chief was another. The third was and is a total joke. Dud Kennedy. Lord help us all if Dud Kennedy ever holds any public office.

1159 - Therapy. That's your only hope. Serious, long-term therapy, possibly including procedures that involve electric shock. Nothing less can fix the Trump Derangement Syndrome that you clearly suffer from.

They wanted KXAS to back the chopper away because they were showing the position of the SWAT officers in a live broadcast, if the suspect had a mobile device he could have watched a stream live shot. Luckily the suspect was in and out of consciousness hidden in the back of the cab which the officers did not know until they got a camera inside the cab. The reason for the large response was due to multiple witnesses calling 911 and reporting a possible female being held inside the cab, if they haven't deleted them, you can find some tweets from multiple news agencies reporting this early on.

Go stand in front of a mirror. Read your post out loud.

Think about what you just heard.

Go post something on your blog about it.

Are you saying Trump takes bribes from countries that have attacked us?

I wonder how that compares with Obama paying the bribes to countries that have attacked us and still refer to us as "the great Satan" and chant "Death to America" a lot.(Iran??)

You're just another partisan hack willing to sacrifice the democratic process cause your candidate lost an election. Go away. Your irrational emotionalism is not helping anything.

Perhaps the people on the highway whose lives were in danger felt the police response was appropriate. They were the ones nearly killed, after all, including a vehicle filled with a family.

Would love to ask anyone in that "anti-Sharia law" crowd to coherently describe one, just one, Sharia law that they are opposed to.
