The Campaign For DA

Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts

  • If I hear an ad that says, "Deals too low to advertise", I will never buy anything from you.
  • Prediction: Trump's Press Secretary, Sean Spicer, will quit within three months. He has the worst job in the world.
    "I've made a huge mistake."
  • And I'm not sure Kellyanne Conway won't leave as well.  (And I'll say again she looks like she is on meth.)
  • Mrs. LL learned about the "County Law! County Law" video yesterday. It is still one of my favorites.
  • The Ticket spent a segment mocking Fox 4's "Viewer Feedback" yesterday. And I loved that it started out with the host saying,  "I'm always scared Steve Eagar will turn on me when we do one of these."
  • The Westminster Dog Show has just concluded which always makes me think about the great movie, Best In Show.
  • You know what jumps out me about Abbott's quote below. His arrogance and elitism of referring to a human being as "low level" employee:
  • Let's check in on the President's mental health this morning.  He doesn't care about the truthfulness of the information. He cares about being exposed as he attacks our coveted government agencies:
  • But wait! There's more!:
  • Trump won in Wise County with 86% of the vote.
  • Mrs. LL works in the front office of a school and during her first Valentine's Day there she was responsible for delivering every set of flowers sent to every teacher. I didn't send her anything to the school. Man, did I pay for it. And I learned my lesson.
  • Hot opinion by the Dallas Morning News:

I criticized Steve Eagar on Twitter about a segment he did, that wasn't even politically based, and he responded along the lines of "uh oh here's another liberal Fox hater!"

The guy is a douchenozzle.

"Trump won in Wise County with 86% of the vote."

It must be very difficult for you to admit that 86% of Wise county's gun-toting, bible-thumping, redneck voters exercised better judgement than you?

All the liberal hacks can continue trying to de-rail the Trump Train at every turn and all they'll do is become even more irrelevant in the process. Unlike your messiah Obama and others of his ilk, Trump is actually doing exactly what he said he would do. God bless him!

Tell Ms. LL you did not want to increase her burden on a Hallmark made up holiday. As a married chick of 27 years I hate Valentine.....I love my anniversary and our birthday's but VD is stupid!

Bask in your self-righteous integrity, Counselor, but know that some manufacturers have the right to cut off dealers/retailers who advertise prices below minimum limits. The practice is supported by FTC rules.

I'm one of the 86% and would for Trump again, he's better than what we had and better than would we would have got !

Anonymous said...

My wife didn't like Trump, but she would have voted for a tree instead of Hillary! I suspect the 86% is largely due to straight ticket voting and the White Older county population. I liked Kasich, but he was too bi-partisan in this day and Tea Party age.

Thank Barry for the voting update in Wise County. Only 14% of the voting population are idiots. That is lower than average in the state of Tex/Mex.
I agree, the office of Press Secretary is ridiculous, although Spicer is better than the last eight years of forced propoganda.
Ms. Conway has children that need her...I doubt she holds out much longer.

The Ticket spent a segment mocking Fox 4's "Viewer Feedback" yesterday.

Were Dunham & Miller at North Texas State the same time as you, Barry? You should have roomed with Dunham. It could have been Dunham & Green! You're every bit as boring as Craigers Miller.

I voted Bernie in the primaries, Trump in the general election. Not fond of Clinton at all. So my vote wasn't just "for Trump", it was "against Hillary." We aren't all rednecks because we voted Trump.

Let me get this straight, all of you doing a victory lap due to the downfall of Michael Flynn don't mind, one bit, that a PRIVATE US citizen's PRIVATE conversation was listened in on, because the NSA/government didn't like to whom he was speaking, and then leaked that CLASSIFIED information for no other reason than to cause personal and professional harm to the US CITIZEN.

Good to know so many of you are perfectly comfortable with a government entity listening in on your private conversations, just in case someone/the government thinks you need to be burned at a later date.

You people need to stop picking the side of a political party, that will burn you, if it means it helps their cause and start getting on the side of your fellow Americans.

I never thought Flynn was a good choice. I detest Steve Bannon, have always thought Reince Priebus was a weaselly little punk, still think Conway is the ideal poster-girl for the 2017 anti Meth Campaign and believe the US would be better served for them to ALL be gone BUT to think it's okay for Flynn to be brought down this way is just partisan BS.

So you are going to spend the next eight years attacking Trump and his appointees. Enjoy it and all the replacements for the Supreme Court judges who die or resign in the next eight years. I was voting for these replacements as well as the border wall when I voted for Trump.

Hey Mschief--the NSA listens to foreign spies. If an American calls one and colludes with him, I would hope that the NSA is listening in.

The story specifically said the FBI didn't have cause for a warrant, so they got the NSA tapes of the commie spy.

Go home.

Not a huge Abbott fan but I would rather lose both NFL franchises and close all movie theaters than allow the NFL or entertainment industry to dictate what Texas does or doesn't do about who can use which bathroom. Seems like the NFL is trying to direct attention away from players driving under the influence, beating their significant other, or dealing with the fallout from a concussion.

My neighbor's cousin's best friend told me Trump is gonna ship all the blacks back to Africa. Is that true?

Can't wait to see what President Snowflake gets his wittle feelings hurt about today!

Could you imagine if one of your buddies tweeted all that crybaby stuff all the time?

"People at stupid work today made fun of me! Not Nice!"

What kind of man behaves this way?

9:29 Nice Burn!

I can't stand Abbott, unless he brings his sidekick Costello, but in this instance, critique of his word choice is silly. There are, in fact, high ranking employees of the NFL and low level employees of the NFL, distinguishing between the two when suggesting that the NFL has made a mistake in trying to shape Texas statutes on a very sensitive issue in fact provides the league with room to walk back the statement by someone with more stroke. Not that it will happen, but the critique is just week.

And on Flynn, MZ has a point. So the FBI can't make its case, can't get a warrant, and goes to the NSA and asks for a voluntary turnover of an otherwise private conversation? That's an end run around a Constitutional protection. if they tried to do that with a drug dealer a judge would throw the conversation, and everything that flowed from it out the window (fruit of the poisonous tree) and the prosecutor would be left holding his Johnson. But here, as opposed to going that route, they outted the tape to a media they knew would buy in and got the result they wanted. It isn't a bad strategy, but anyone who suggests it is constitutional is either delusional or disingenuous.

Trumo complaining about leaks is priceless! This is the guy who publicly asked Russia to release more on Hillary. I am tickled to death to be part of the 14 percent who didn't drink the koolaide

Listening to "foreign spies" is CLASSIFIED intel. Listening in and releasing a PRIVATE US citizen's conversation as well as CLASSIFIED information, for no other purpose than to cause personal and professional harm to the US CITIZEN is a violation of the rights of the US CITIZEN and a CRIME.

Think about it this way, you ring your accountant, who just so happens to be drug dealer the FBI/government is listening to, you ask your accountant to engage in some "accounting magic" that reduces your tax liability. The next thing you know, the IRS is freezing your personal/business assets and confiscating ALL of your personal and business electronic equipment, data and documents. Oh, don't forget the FBI also "leaks" the conversation the media and ALL of your business contacts. You'd be fine with that? Thankfully, most judges even federal judges wouldn't be okay with this type of violation of a PRIVATE US CITIZEN's CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS!

As for me going home, I am home but leaving to ski. Have a great day. AMF!

"Oh noes, we have a leak!"

Your guy is working with Russian spies.

Let that sink in. Trump and his campaign were working with the Russians.

Some of y'all crying about Flynn might wanna crack the history books and check out the Logan Act. It's only been in place since 1799, so maybe Flynn missed it. Yes, 1799 is not a typo.

Bear said...

No one seems to mind that Obama made the comment to Putin that "I will have more freedom to do what you want after the election". Is that not also colluding with the enemy? And on a Presidential level.

Harry Hamid said...

2:37: No, not under the Logan Act.

No one ever gets prosecuted under the Logan Act, by the way, and it probably won't happen this time. The only time it gets brought up is when Jesse Jackson would go and talk to Qaddafi about releasing hostages and political opponents get pissed off about it,.

The President, who is authorized to make deals with foreign governments on behalf of the United States, is not barred from doing so. In fact, Flynn wouldn't have been barred from doing so had the incident in question been a month later.

Anonymous said...

Looks like Bear has checked his alt-right taking points today. No, Bear, that is not the same thing. Context is key. Also, what Obama said wasn't illegal.

Sam, if Flynn was caught talking to Al Quaeda because the AQ phone was tapped, would you have a problem? Same thing happened here. The Patriot Act and other national security laws specifically state that the foreign-national's phone can be tapped. If an American just so happens to call it and get recorded, well, so much the better. When it's a black or a brown guy, y'all are just fine catching them any way you can. And when its a Democrat y'all are just fine with them being hacked by the enemy. But when you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar, OMG IT VIOLATES OUR RIGHTS!!!!

Get over yourselves, you lying punks.

But it wasn't a month later, thus, he WAS in violation of it. Christ, it's right there in plain English for anyone to read. If it was nothing, and Trump didn't give a damn about the consequences of it, Flynn would still be employed. They'll say he resigned because he lied about it, but that's a crock of shit. Trump has surrounded himself with the worst of "yes men", and I predict his entire cabinet will retire/resign/be fired before 2018 is up. There's only so much crazy people can deal with.
