Shoplifter Brought To To Court With No Pants

This is long but lots of gold in it for those which do this stuff for a living. No pants is just the beginning. The judge picking up the phone and firing off a "What. The. Hell?" was funny. And I loved how the plea bargain/recommended sentence was shot down from the get go and the case got a lot sweeter for the defendant once the "no pants" issue was discovered. (And I kind of worry about her lawyer if that's her in the blue.)

And the judge actually qualifies as a "Hey, Now":

I think the judge is a little older than her hey now photo. She did right by the defendant but she acted so immature. I do think she should be a defending attorney, not a judge.

If the system breaks down to this degree in whatever county this is, then major changes are needed. This is just basic common decency I don't care what crime she did. If not a single jailer or bailiff along the way had the cajones or humanity to speak up then heads need to roll.

What do you think of the ABA's plan to impose political correctness on the practice of law?

Ought to be something a commie like you can get behind.

Waiting for "This wouldn't have happened if she hadn't committed the crime in the first place."

Proud of the judge taking ownership and trying to get answers. Somebody in power needs to step up and find a solution when this type of screw-up occurs. Too many folks finger point and say "not my problem - I didn't do it". If it takes a judge getting a little brassy to get their attention, so much the better.

I am now looking for my high school prom picture to use as my future obituary photo. Might as well look my best.

Usually I get another citation when I don't wear pants to court.

I think she should sue the pants off of them ...

As for the "if she hadn't committed the crime..." argument, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to feed your sister and her kids when they're starving.

I was happy to see that the judge sought out answers and a resolution for how it had happened. It's rare for someone to disrupt their day to do the right thing, and when you're dealing with this kind of court, it would have been easy to just say, "If you don't want to be humiliated, don't break the law."

That woman could never be a Judge in Wise County. If that was Wise County she would have been calling the jail and apologising to them for having to look at the inmate's black ass, call them heroes for surviving such an ordeal and then sentence the inmate to a year for indecency.
