Tomorrowland

I always think about what life will be like 50 years from now.  If we could go back and transport someone from 1965 to the present, their mind would be blown. GPS. Flat screens. All the information in the world at your fingerprints -- without cords. Video chatting. Electric cars. And the list goes on.

So what will life be like in 2065?  Robots like this for home protection, law enforcement, or commerce? Drones everywhere? Every moment of your life recorded with some type of implant or glasses? Virtual reality glasses to experience anything or any place? Holograms in your living room? Driverless cars? (That last one is a forgone conclusion).

It's coming. And it seems to be coming fast.

Looks not unlike Fahrenheit 451.

Oh, and happy Montag to you, counselor.

What's the future going to be like? Immortality or extinction. Check out this two-part series on the upcoming rise of artificial intelligence.

If the concept of the "gray goo" doesn't scare the $#*! out of you, nothing will.

We will all be surfs to the 1%

There will only be a few that have it all. They will pay for the tech to keep the rest of us out of their space. There will be millions/billions of us scratching the earth for tidbits and fighting each other for survival. Pay scales for the masses have been on the decline step for step with the increase in technology. When the few with all the money figure out how to get what they want done without the masses the masses will be fenced out via robots that will not care about anything but what they are programmed to do.

Yea, couple details to consider here. Those are amazing machines, no doubt. A .243 round will still bring one down, no doubt. And they are still powered by electricity from a lithium ion battery. Limited range, susceptible to almost any rifle round.

Bring on any number of them you can afford to build. I can drop them much cheaper, guaranteed. I have 50,000 rounds in inventory. Can you afford 50,000 of these amazing machines?

Bring it on. I'll win.

SEE TERMINATOR SERIES

Article in the paper today says that info from wireless connections to our cars are not safe from theft. And that automakers are using or providing that same info to third parties.
The biggest change will be that we are losing our privacy. Our digital footprints tell others where we go, how we got there, and what we purchased.
It's Fahrenheit 451 and 1984 (2435?) , with maybe a dash of The Terminator

Dang interwebs!

I wonder how well it does in the parking lot today when there is 4 feet of global warmism.

9:50 Armor plating and a mounted .50 cal on top of each will probably get you pretty quickly.

Cool robots! Though, not our future. Natural geological events will return us to hunter-gatherers for a period of approximately 100 years. Thereafter, the beauty begins.

A short few minutes to explain the beauty:
