Fourteen were killed in San Bernadino. Then-candidate Trump said afterwards, for the first time, that he was calling for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States."
- This is a little wild. Casey Hall, the Montague County DA who was convicted in May in Denton County for theft related claims occurring while she was in office, was back in jail on Monday. She had received a sentence of one year "to do" in a State Jail but had appealed the case and was out on bond. But after not paying the court reporter for the transcript (!), the Fort Worth Court of Appeals dismissed the case. The dismissal became final late last month, so now it looks like she is back in jail to begin her sentence. (h/t to my big sky country correspondent for the heads up.)
- Pete Hegseth continues to change the facts regarding his involvement with the Second Strike and now blames the "fog of war" for him ever saying anything to the contrary
- Oh, come on. SS?
- And to think Trump used the nickname "Sleepy Joe Biden."
- 71 million views. Here's the video she was referring to.
- I'm no PR expert, but I don't think it's smart to attack one of the most popular singers in the world.
- One of the biggest stories under the radar right now is how the Justice Department is agressively collecting voter data from blue states. Mark my word, they are going to use it to later falsely claim the elections in those states aren't valid.
- I'm no Adam Smith, but I don't think giving away money is a way to teach kids about capitalism.
- That ballroom just keeps getting bigger.
- Random Wichita Falls paper front page headline and photo. The kids really dressed up for the playoff game.
- The college football playoffs are just about set. Tech will get a bye with a win this week, and they will certainly be in the playoffs even with a highly unlikely loss to BYU. But a BYU win, making them the a conference champion, would guarantee the Cougars a spot in the playoffs and Notre Dame would get squeezed out altogether. The other thing to watch is this week's conference game of Tulane vs. North Texas. The winner will get the 12th spot. The ACC champion will get the 11th spot.
- It's college football national signing day which means the name Max Emfinger pops into my head.
