The Campaign For DA

Random Thursday Morning Thoughts

  • The reaction to Tiger Woods arrest for DWI where alcohol was not been involved is pretty fascinating. Some think it's not as bad. Others think it is worse. I follow stuff like that like a hawk.
  • So it's the thing now where little leaguers get "championship rings" (even when they don't win)?
  • That crazy "bounty hunters" story that left three dead is beginning to make more sense (kinda). They were from Minnesota looking for a guy wanted in Minnesota. When I said bounty hunters were, in essence, a myth I should have qualified it by saying there is no reason for a fugitive from Texas authorities to be the focus of a bounty hunter. Alternatives are readily available.
  • "Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James said 'being black in America is tough' in response to news that Los Angeles police were investigating a racial slur spray-painted on the front gate of one of his homes." Let's check in on local radio host Mark Davis' response:
  • I don't know anything about this story, but you have to love the scoreboard in the background when a coach is claiming he was fired for something other than his performance.
  • KXAS/Channel 5 News runs a commercial about two investigative reporters and references a large "call center" to get tips. The commercial then cuts to a phone bank where I bet there are 20 people shown on screen. There is no way that exists.
  • The villain in the new Pirates movie is the same villain as in No Country From Old Men and the bad guy (who appeared briefly with a thumb drive) in Collateral
  • A former Bridgeport resident is withdrawing as counsel for a former Baylor football player in a pending criminal case in Waco.
  • Comey is coming.
  • Former Fox News star Megyn Kelly, now with NBC, will interview Putin tomorrow. Delicious.
  • ESPN has given Lee Corso, 81, a long term extension.  Over the last two years he has exhibited mass confusion on Game Day. I'm surprised that network, who is making cuts left and right, would do that.
  • The Softball College World Series begins today. I could watch it over major league baseball any day of the week. (The Rangers' game on Memorial Day lasted 3 hours and 48 minutes.)

RTG may be packing something in those swim suit bottoms...

The bounty hunters weren't after a fugitive out of Texas...he was out of Minnesota.

1. The bounty hunters were from Corpus. And it wouldn't be crazy to you if it was your cash on the line.

2. Have you willfully ignored the numerous instances since Trump's election where leftists stage hate crimes? It happens enough that Davis has a point.

3. It has nothing to do with Corso's ability to rationally talk CFB. It is about ratings. He brings viewers to the Saturday morning countdown show.

4. Comey is coming? Yawn.

Good call remember Javier Bardem from Collateral. I forgot he was in that. He was also the villain in the Bond movie Skyfall.

As for Lee Corso--it's hard for me to take him seriously doing anything. I grew up in Indiana when he was coaching at IU...maybe he confused then too!

Come on Barry....get on down to Waco and defend your boy Oakman. Gotta support the alma mater....right?

Source sir?

Not saying I doubt it at all. Would just like to see where you got this.

You Filthy liberals own the Kathy Griffin photo. Thanks for not posting it Barry. Surely you are embarrassed by liberal behavior. How much lower can the bar go?

I find myself agreeing with your political opinions about 1/2 the time and I appreciate your sly way of trolling some members of your audience, but your sports knowledge is abysmal. As you state you know nothing about the Cleburne coach's situation then fire off a veiled opinion by showing the scoreboard with them losing by 30+ points. If you notice that's Aledo they lost to and if every coach that lost to Aledo by 30 over the last 10 years was fired for lack of performance we would have a shortage of coaches in the area and even the state. At the same time I do agree that college softball play-offs a better watch than MLB regular games (though not world series maybe)

45 - 7, ain't nobody got time for that.

Skippy, why don't you point out Trump's job numbers and praise him like you did Obammy's abysmal numbers?

The Dakota Access oil pipeline began service today. In your face weenies!

"You Filthy liberals own the Kathy Griffin photo." Huh?

So, if someone is a liberal, has never voted for Griffin, and thinks her stunt was sick, they own her? That seems logical.

Tiger's excuse doesn't wash- an unforeseen side effect? Yeah Mr. Woods, the label on the side of your prescription painkillers, the bright yellow one, says don't drive when using this medication. The worst part is Sh______se lawyers saying it wasn't DUI because he blew a .000. They don't understand what Under The Influence means.

As for the Bounty Hunter Case; read up Barry. They were from Texas, doing a contract for a Minnesota firm. They were also dumb enough to determine that the only gear they needed was cuffs and a pistol. Had they approached with a taser ready, the result would probably have been much different. Just be grateful you don't have Dog showing up around here.

I SEE THAT THE SHORT BUS HAS ARRIVED. IS THIS YOUR FIRST VISIT?

I wonder how many of you people that think that liberals "own" the Kathy what's-her-name video would also think that conservatives "own" the noose left at the museum? Or any other noose left at places around the country? Or all of the white supremacist literature left on college campuses? Or the white power speeches given at the monument removals in New Orleans?

9:42- YES, the rings are a thing. My nephew got one recently and so did the son of a friend. You know, because everyone gets a trophy! Even for 2nd place. SMH.

I don't know anything about the coaching story either, but I do know enough to understand that losing to Aledo, even 45-7 is not going to get a coach in trouble. Cleburne has had a winning record for the past few years under this coach.

I have never understood Kathy Griffin, nor her brand of humor. I hope I never have to work with her again!

A middle aged white male commenting in any way about a black man saying it's tough to be black in America carries about the weight of any man commenting that giving birth is no big deal.

RTG: Thank you. Good job BG. Federica Bertolani has an extensive body of work.

1:14 - America is the best place on earth for black males. For an America hating leftist to say otherwise carries no weight.

That RTG has my soldier's full attention, if you know what I mean.
Kinda reminds me of a hotter Angel Dark.

If you think about it, over the top DUI laws are typicall pushed by the overzealous, self righteous, holier than thou, soccer mom crowd. That same crowd is also most likely to be hopped up on benzos, prescription pain killers, etc... I would wager that's the crowd that draws a distinction between the two.

Personally, I think the laws are a joke. Reckless driving was already an arrestable offense. Drive like a maniac, pose a threat to other drivers.... bam, call a wrecker and your local bondsman. Everything else is just a cash grab. That's why on the way home tonight I'll be able to stop at the local qwiki mart for a pair of iced down, cold tall boys at the register. Because I fully intend to drink those when I get home.

Mark Davis has a point, while those types of crimes have been way more prevalent then they should have ever been, how many high profile instances, especially the ones that garnered national attention turned out to be hoaxes? I would say enough that when I might have instantly believed a story ten years ago.... Everytime I see one now, my immediate thought is "bull shit"

That call center might exist, they might contract a few of their employees to Channel 5. When not taking news tips they might be taking orders for Adam & Eve products.

ESPN has dumped so many recognizable faces, keeping Corso around was probably out of necessity. They did the same thing with Lou Holtz, and how long did Madden stick around past his prime?

I get your appreciation for college softball. I also (mostly) appreciate your tastes in RTG. Can we stop pretending it's for the love of the game?

That football picture was a playoff game. Meaning you have to make the playoffs to even be on that field that night. Meaning there must be at least some ability to coach kids to play and win some games, or that picture doesn't exist at all.

Stop heaping praise on children who can run fast and jump high. How many of you have been to one of their science fairs or even encouraged one of your children to participate in one?

Lee Corso did not exhibit mass confusion. He's an old man, and sometimes his speech and speed of delivering his thoughts get sidetracked for a moment, that's all.

Good God, man! Todays RTG looks soggier than my cereal!

Well 1:14-----

Other than the fact that I've known several black men through the years who would disagree with the sentiment and have a wife for whom 4 natural births were in fact no big deal you might have a point. Hell, I'm 65 and my life's experiences might very well qualify me to comment on things about which you remain ignorant.

Sucks!!!!

Sorry folks, but there's something strange. & not exactly right going on between the RTGs waist and neck.

That's a tall, cool drink of RTG right there...

Straight ticket voting has always benefited the Democrats. Community organisers round up winos and gimps on work corners and take them to the polls and say, Don't forget vote straight Democrat. We will know if you don't. Then come back and we give you your 20 dollars...

That RTG is filling out both pieces of that there bakini. GJBG!
