Fox 4's Steve Eagar Needlessly Calls Out Former Fox 4 Employee

What you see there is Eager (who comes across as a jerk on Twitter) saying that someone wasn't ethical. Former Fox 4 gal Lari Barager asks "who?", and Eagar posts Rebecca Aguilar's tweet to him a couple of days ago. Aguilar was frustrated that many of the local affiliates were ignoring the murder of a local Telemundo media guy.

Eagar got meaner:

I tend to agree with her. Fox 4, as does every local news station, uses content from other media outlets all the time and simply gives them attribution. (Although stealing content by everyone is rampant.)

But, wait, there's more.

I don't care about any of that. I just miss seeing Lori Barager's beautiful face on TV. #Hottie

Steve Eagar is a Ron Burgundy starter kit....

Check that...

Ron Burgundy is modeled after Steve Eagar and just relocated to Sannnnnn Diaaaaaaaaaaaaago.

Stay classy Fox 4 news anchor. Anchor being an appropriate term since he drags down the station.

Fox 4 news, kidding me? Since when is "news" having an internet monitor as part of your newscast so you can actually have someone read troll comments live on the "news" program. Sad.

Agreed, they (fox/nbc/cbs/abc) use other media outlets that consists only of a rewording of a press release from officials with no hint of actual reporting work, of posing or answering even obvious questions, or of applying any useful thought to the subject being covered.

I don't know how anyone can read these twitter conversations and understand what the hell is being said!

I just sent an email to Tim Ryan and the program director at Fox 4.

Among other recommendations, I suggested Mr. Eagar change his first name to Dick since that seems to fit him better than Steve, and I recommended a transfer to KBIM in Roswell NM so he could immerse himself in aliens, real and imagined.

It kinda seems like twitter and facebook have turned most people into petty little junior high girls. It's a mystery to me how seemingly intelligent people so readily embrace something as dumb as social media

Ms. Aguilar sued Fox 4 over her dismissal claiming race discrimination. She lost. The jury was out for less than 30 minutes. I was on that jury. We took 1 vote. She is just a bitch plain and simple.

I quit watching fox 4 news 2 years ago because of this jerk!

Does ANYONE else appreciate the hypocrisy of a "professional" getting into a "Twitter War" and complaining about their foe lacking ethics?

FYI..."Winning a fight on the Internet is like winning the Special Olympics."

Will Clarice be reading these tweets on the air?

The spat was over one story detail. Calling it a death investigation or a murder. The Garland Public Information Officer told all media that night that detectives were calling this a death investigation at the time and not a homicide, despite "former colleagues" demanding all media stations report it as a murder because that is what the family told the Star Telegram.
