The Campaign For DA

The Deadline Nears -- We've Gone To DEFCON 2

Edit: If you've got forms you haven't turned in, I need them. Pronto!

Ok, as some of you guys know, I have filed a Declaration of Intent to run for District Attorney as an Independent. However, the Declaration doesn't put me on the ballot. While traditional candidates of the two party system simply get to pay a filing fee to get on the ballot, the government doesn't like rebels and requires Independent candidates to collect 500 signatures to simply give voters  a choice in November.

I've recently sent out many letters to people who I think would be willing to help in collecting signatures, but I'm sure I've forgotten some names. Also, I might simply be unaware of some people who would be willing to help.

If you haven't heard from me, I still want and need your help. If you want to sign the petition or simply collect a handful of signatures, HERE is where you need to go.

If you don't want to do it for me, do it because you are sick and tired of a two party system. Signing the petition isn't a vote for me -- it just gets me on the ballot. And there is nothing more disheartening than going to vote in November without any contested races in Wise or Jack counties. So do it so you can at least have a choice in November, If you like me, you'll be able to vote for me. If you hate me, you'll get the satisfaction of voting against me. Everybody wins!

(The history of how I got to this point can be found by clicking on the tab above labeled "The Campaign For DA.")

You need an assault rifle in your other hand.

I hope I never get a chance to say I told you so--that this is a terrible idea that you don't need in your life right now. You need less conflict, not more.

With all the health issues you have been through as well as the scare your poor family had, you better sit this one out ol' son!

Besides, with snarling your lip at all Law Enforcement for so long and defending all the "bad" folks, I say your chances of having any backing from the Blue is probably scarce. They will feel all efforts to file cases in your jurisdiction would be a waste of time as you would pick them apart and not prosecute anything, nor take the "bad guys" off the street!

Rest up and in case you ever actually do turn from the dark side, you can reconsider running again. But as it stands, you have burned way too many bridges to get re-elected in this county.

... In my humble opinion.

Assuming that the first order of business when elected DA will be to eliminate all prosecutions

BU-Bear...EXCELLENT point made for the reason Texans, who hate Trump and Hillary, should vote for Gary Johnson, of the Libertarian Party. (Honestly, Johnson is the only Libertarian running for POTUS who's not a nutter.)

Trump is going to win Texas, no getting around that sad, sad fact. Sooo, if as most people claim, they hate the Democrat and the Republican establishments the best way to make a serious point is to NOT throw away their vote by voting for Hillary. IF the Libertarian Party can garner 5% of the votes, cast for POTUS, the Libertarian Party will be eligible for FEDERAL CAMPAIGN FUNDS. The Libertarian Party acquiring FCF would go a long way to legitimizing the Libertarian Party. Just think about what a third party with 15+% of voters supporting it would mean to the Democrats and Republicans. Ds and Rs would have to actually court Libertarians and be forced to knock off the duplicitous pandering to their voters. Better yet, people might come around to actually realizing the Libertarian Party is what's best for the country and give up seeking politicians who make promises, they never plan on keeping, to voters they've betrayed for decades.

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - Albert Einstein

We all know that the Democrats are full of bull sh!te and the Republicans are full horse sh!te. Stop taking a big bite out of their sh!te sandwiches and VOTE LIBERTARIAN.

Skippy, I just realized who you remind me of. When they show separated at birth pictures yours and David Finfrock's should be side by side.

Doggone it, wish I hadn't voted in the primary. But I wanted to make sure Brandon Davis didn't get in office.

You and everyone else 10:08

A libertarian true to their beliefs wouldn't accept government funds would they?

You sir are no David Finfrock!

And thought it was a joke when I heard Trump was running for president and this smacks of a joke too. If not, it should be. Are you copying Cheech or Chong?

I see improvement in Baylor athletics. At least no one died associated with the football team.

Whoever is doing your PR needs to be fired. Lose the mustache. You look hideous.

You certainly need to get your signatures in Rhome. The Brandon Davis haters are plentiful.

I am looking to Caitlyn Jenner as a running mate for whoever, and then when there is an impeachent (or whatever) we will at long last have our trans-gender leader!

If you are a Democrat your base can vote 2-3 times- so there is that I suppose.

Anonymous said...

If you are a Democrat, your base can vote as many times as they want. Even if they are dead or a cartoon character.

Skip Finfrock, why would you want to take a pay cut?

Many of the college students who did not vote in the primary are home for the summer. I predict an uptick in signing activity around the Law Office of Barry Green.

Glad to see MzChief has a new party. But it's the divisive politics of people like her that have screwed the Republican Party up in the first place. Now she and others are jumping ship and complaining about the mess they created in the first place? Ironic.

Have you shown the public your financial and medical history?

Full Disclosure!

To Anonymous 7:22...

You must be new! I have NEVER been a Republican. As stated in this Liberally Lean comment in 2006, I'm a Libertarian. I tend to vote Republican because rarely has there been a Libertarian for whom to vote, thus I've always voted for the lesser of two evils. This year, there really isn't a lesser of two evils AND voting Libertarian is an option that will give rise to an actual third party in the US. Gary Johnson will not win BUT the Libertarian Party will if it obtains at least 5% of the votes cast for POTUS.

Just read your touching article in the paper. I feel great sympathy for you and what both you and your office staff and loved one have gone through.

But if the stress of all that caused this horrific event in your life, does that not tell you the man upstairs was taping on your shoulder to "cool your jets" perhaps?

No offense intended here but do you know how much more stress the campaign will put on you? The actual voting? And Lord help us all if you were to win!

With your liberal stance on DWI, and more repulsive view of drug offenders, poor biased outlook on law enforcement, do you not think the public outcry for your head will bring about intolerable stress?

For the sake of your health, for the sake of your family, you truly need to bow out now. Don't be selfish, think of others before yourself and spare everyone around you.

Incidentally, if you continue this circus, you should make it perfectly clear that if folks voted in the primary, they can't sign the petition you are circulating.

Prayers for you and your family.

I have a hard time believing that someone who typed this: "With your liberal stance on DWI, and more repulsive view of drug offenders, poor biased outlook on law enforcement, do you not think the public outcry for your head will bring about intolerable stress?"

Could also really believe this: "I feel great sympathy for you and what both you and your office staff and loved one have gone through."

I'm offended that the petition is only in English and Spanish. I need it to be in Chinese so I can understand it before I sign it. Isn't multi cultureism great? That's what the weenies claim anyway.

Anonymous said...

Prayers for you and your screwed-up family.

Best Wishes!

Folks.....you need to get Bu on the ballot in WC.

Then let the voters decide.

Personally, if I could vote in WC, I would vote for Barry without exception.

Double Fake sign up/vote Bu

Anonymous said...

Where can I get a petition that's printed in Chinese?

Anonymous said...

Skippy, would it help you out if I signed it multiple times?

Anonymous said...

BU vs. GL is akin to HRC vs. Trump.

They will both screw up but which one will screw up less?

Skippy, Sorry to hear your friend Jesse Ventura's award against the American Sniper was vacated.
