The Campaign For DA

Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts

  • Liberally Lean Pick 'Em Tourney. We have a new winner for the name of a bracket: "Barry and Konni's Love Child" which is a reference to Konni Burton who I have publicly and correctly said is the dumbest Texas legislator in the history of Texas. (And, Sir!, in reference to another bracket name, that reference to what Mrs. LL might have in the boat is so offensive!)
  • Trump won Florida last night. It's over! The Establishment can't stop him. This is the most entertaining and historic election ever.
  • Marco Rubio quit and said at the press conference that it "wasn't God's plan". So God's plan is for Trump? God help us.
  • Shout out to the Texas Court System Appellate People: You have to file a docketing statement online and must use Internet Explorer to do it? Moronic. Is someone getting a kick back?
  • The President will announce a Supreme Court nominee today.  It may be Sri Srinivasan (cool name) who is a United States Circuit Judge and a former Supreme Court clerk. The Senate confirmed him as a judge by a vote of 97–0 in 2013. The Republican controlled Senate will now start sweating. How do you not approve him now?
  • Dear Sweet Bridgeport (the place where I grew up on the mean streets thereof): Do you really need to have on 380 speed signs that go from 70 to 60 to 45 to 40. #SpeedTrap
  • I went in Brookshire's grocery store the other day. Pretty, pretty, pretty good.
  • The 7th Grader In The House had dental surgery yesterday and got drugged up to no end. Mrs. LL filmed it, and I'm begging her to let me post it. It might be funnier than "David After Dentist".
  • Jerry Lewis turns 90 today. He went crazy in that Telethon in his last years as host which led to its demise. And what ever happened to all that money they raised? (And I've always thought his old movies were awful and that Jim Carrey was his equivalent for our generation.)

Very attractive RTG!!

By all means, let's get somebody on the SC with a "cool" name. Not like that WASPy, old-school boring John Roberts.
Doesn't Sri mean "mister" in some foreign language? That would make him Mister Misternivasan

speed trap:
Not sure if your complaint is that the speed is too low, or that it takes too many steps to get to the low point. (or that the speed limit is posted...with signs, of all things!)
The speed is reduced incrementally to coincide with the amount of traffic and the amount of entry/exit points. In the 40mph area, that's where the most traffic is found. Justified

Cool Name? Leftist like Barry love anything that is non-western culture. Watch it burn.

Padmanabhan Srikanth Srinivasan for Supreme Court Justice. I don't think so. I prefer a natural born citizen even though the position does not require it.

Top three browsers in order in regards to privacy, stability, security, and ability to be configured to block ads (my opinion).

1. Opera
2. Firefox
3. Chrome

Opera is the hands-down winner in blocking noxious ads, since it is part of its code, not just an ad blocker ad-on. I use all three depending on the website being visited. Facebook videos don't show regularly in Firefox, etc.

Hate IE. Have not used it in four years. My condolences to folks who are constrained to use only it as work (yes some businesses standardize on it since they are Microsoft only shops).

Skippy blows it again with who he said Obammy would pick for Supreme Court judge. How'd that Rubio pick work out for ya?

Good job on the RTG. Repeats are allowed on this one.

DF Bacon, over and out.

If I say "my car is not yellow", that statement does not mean that my car is blue, or that someone else's car is or isn't yellow.

Did they not teach you logic in Philosophy 101?

Still hiding ads in your blog I see.

I'm in LOVE with RTG anyone have her number?

People like 9:27 sit around and wonder why minorities and first-generation Americans tend to vote Democrat.

10:18

What do these 3 words mean to you?

"It may be"

Did you read "It will be" by chance?

Big difference between the two.....huge....

I'm so forgetful can you post an update on how/where to register a bracket.
Thanks,
Old and forgetful

Yes, get rid of those awful speed traps. (how is it a trap when there are multiple signs indicating the reduced speed limit?) Much better to have people in Bridgeport killed daily when pulling onto 380 from the multitude of intersections and business driveways and being hit by someone doing 70 or faster.

12:37 - Is it because leftism is the default position for those who don't know much?

Speed limits on state highways are regulated by the state. The city has no say on the speed limits....

Skippy, Asking for God's help is one of the funniest things you've ever posted on here. A liberal weenie asking for God's help. Good one!!!

Obviously it has been a long time since you were in Bridgeport. Those speed limit signs and Brookshire have been there for some time now. Or was this the first time you slowed down enough to notice there were speed limit signs?

Anonymous said...

If the Republicans were smart...which I'm doubting....they would approve this nomination. Trump or Hillary nomination would be worse I think

BROOKSHIRES IS A PRETTY GOOD STORE EXCEPT IT PLAYS TOO MANY PRICING GAMES. YOU HAVE TO WATCH OUT OR YOU PAY A PREMIUM.

)And I've always thought his old movies were awful and that Jim Carrey was his equivalent for our generation.)

I agree with you. I've never understood Carrey's appeal.

Rural sections of U.S. 380 have a speed limit of 70. There are legitimate reasons to reduce the speed limit in areas of urban development. It is called desire to stay alive. I guess you think that FM 51 with a speed limit of 70 to the south of Decatur should have the same speed limit in front of Walmart? I believe it goes from 70 to 60 to 50 to 45. Stop texting and you might notice the signs so you don't get in a "speed trap".
