It's Friday -- Let's Get Out of Here

Random Friday Morning Thoughts

I had forgotten that Kayne West said he was on the verge of entering the presidential campaign since Trump was doing so surprisingly well in the polls. The New Yorker couldn't resist poking fun at the absurdity of what we were seeing.

  • A Facebook video captured the moment it happened (at around 1:00 mark) in Fort Worth, although the neighbors yelling instructions aren't particularly helpful. Story.

  • New this morning. Uh, what are we doing?

    • That bombing earlier this week of a boat alleged to be full of drugs and drug dealers off the coast of Venezuela used to be something that the government would cover-up in a Tom Clancy novel.

  • I thought Trump would do this Tuesday, but it'll be today instead.

  • He's such a nutcase and a liar.

  • James O'Keefe is notorious for selectively editing "secret recordings" and generally can't be trusted. And lately he's using young women to go on fake dates with his targets who then records them. O'Keefe released one last night proclaiming it proved an Epstein cover-up:

    • But what was really weird was the U.S. Department of Justice responding online to the video by simply posting a text message "statement" from Schnitt trying to do damage control:

  • A new cosplay image from Kristi Noem was released yesterday - this time from Louisiana.

  • s Gift link.

  • The Business Second: The jobs report was just released, and it's not good. Is someone at the Bureau of Labor Statistics going to get fired again?.

  • Random Fox 4 screenshot this morning:

  • Lauren Whitener Clock: 6 years and 63 days.

Random Thursday Morning Thoughts

This somewhat odd Rhome PD post made it to Fox 4 News.

  • What a weird split screen yesterday where the Epstein victims, led by Marjorie Taylor Greene, were speaking on the Capitol steps while Trump was at the White House at the very same moment telling us it was all a hoax.

    • The exact quote from Trump:

  • Barring yet another special session, any change in Texas' THC laws is died last night.

  • This whole thing is weird. It appears she left the child in a running air-conditioned car while she went to work for under three hours.  Returning and discovering the child dead, she drove to the hospital with the story that she had been "driving around" with the child without the air-conditioning working when she discovered he was nonresponsive.  I bet the stop at the fast food stop, which made it to all the headlines, was just an intentional effort to support her "driving around" story.

  • Welcome to Texas.

  • Florida is going to kill us all.

  • Good grief.

  • What a baby.  He's scared of a county commissioner who will call him out in public.

  • Random image from Congress yesterday.

  • Every story refuses to mention the cause of death which generally means only one thing.

  • An Art Briles sighting. He was at North Carolina on Monday to watch TCU whose offensive coordinator is his son.

  • When ESPN acquired the RedZone Channel, you just knew this was coming. And if ESPN treats it the way it treats a regular college football game, there will be more commercials than content.

  • Messenger - Above the Fold

Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts

A county clerk in Kentucky was making national headlines for refusing to issue marriage certificates for same sex couples.  She would be defeated in the next election. Side note: She has been married four times to three husbands.

  • Oh, my. Bodycam of the rescue is here.

  • This is really crazy.

  • (Gift link.) "At the meeting [of roughly 200 people] Tuesday night, King’s supporters split into three groups to plan how best to support him: one group focused on prayer needs, another on organizing financial help for King’s legal fees and the third on putting together a “PR strategy.”

  • Problem solved.

  • They certainly do know how to throw a parade.

  • Wait. We are just killing suspects at will now?  Video. And didn't Wikileaks caused a major scandal by releasing and revealing the U.S. engages in this type of activity?

  • Regarding the recent ICE job expo in Arlington, that's a heck of second paragraph:

  • Rudy was so injured that he immediately made his way to a podcast mic as soon as he was released from the hospital.

  • Ronny might be drinking again.

  • As crazy as she was on the witness stand, she was likeable and authentic.

  • And another failure for U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro to secure an indictment from a grand jury.

  • When all else fails, rig the system.

  • Chicago's governor yesterday, "We have reason to believe that the Trump administration has already begun staging the Texas National Guard for deployment in Illinois."
