Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts

The new Donald Trump campaign was just beginning to hit its stride.

  • 76 year old woman:

  • No names were mentioned in the story.

  • The on-again, off-again poker houses now on-again. For good.

  • Woah! Since when is the governor using executive orders for things that the legislature won't pass?

  • We learned yesterday that the birthday card that didn't exist actually does exist.

    • And that first name only signature is definitely his.  The New York Times is all over it.

  • This headline hardly does justice to what the Supreme Court did yesterday.

    • Below is what the federal judge had prohibited ICE agents from relying upon to seize "suspected" illegal immigrants.  Now this is OK. If you have brown skin, you might want to carry your birth certificate on you.

    • From the dissent:
    • I guess this old meme became reality yesterday.

    • And now they come for Chicago:

  • Coming soon to America? Side note: I got an email from a faithful reader last night who said he was in the middle of a dream vacation in Nepal and "I am holed up in a hotel downtown waiting for it to die down" as the entire city is engulfed in protests.

  • Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth went into cosplay mode yesterday. And the video is worse.

  • The Business Second™.

  • I'm sorry. Who ever thought that?

  • Apple introduces the new iPhone 17 Air today.
  • Breaking: Israel may have just bombed Qatar in a search for Hamas. Edit: Yep, it happened.

Random Momday Morning Thoughts

It's the anniversary of an attack on a ref by two players from San Antonio Jay High School.  An assistant coach, Mack Breed resigned and admitted ordering the attack, but he quickly retracted it. He would eventually plead guilty to a misdemeanor offense. The players didn't face criminal charges.  Video from game.

  • Three 18 year olds are under arrest for the death of a 21 year old female in North Richland Hills.

  • Dateline: Bowie, Texas.  Gift link.

  • This isn't going to help race relations.

  • A "Phillies Karen" video over the weekend isn't helping manhood, especially after the guy's interview a day after it happened.

  • So what was the point of that Putin and Trump meeting in Alaska?

  • We have become the dumbest country, and Kennedy is one of the dumbest of its officials.

  • Trump and the White House casually announced by meme that troops are going to invade Chicago, not for the purpose of "fighting crime", but  to enforce immigration laws.  This would have caused the impeachment and removal of a president back when we were a sane country. This is not normal.

  • The Rose Garden, now paved over, reopened as a "club" on Friday night.  It's been turned into Mar-a-Lago.

  • As people begin to ask questions why the U.S. extrajudicially murdered a boatload of people "believed" to be drug dealers off the coast of Venezuela, the Vice President gloated about it.

  • From the New York Times of  Friday: A wild story of how Trump ordered a SEAL raid into North Korea in 2019 to plant a listening device. The SEALs killed everyone on a board a boat that they thought had spotted them, sunk the boat and the bodies, and aborted. And Congress was told of none of this. (Gift link.)

  • We lost Vietnam because our soldiers were "woke"? Video

  • They do a horrible job of keeping Trump's Epstein scandal out of the news.

  • Sure, there is always a bunch of Trump news, but I can't pass these things up.
    • Trump appeared at the U.S. Open yesterday and promptly took a pill or a breath mint. Who knows.
    • Did I say something about the U.S. being the dumbest country? On Friday we learned new details about the upcoming UFC fight at the White House.

  • Crazy Rep. Ronny Jackson followed though with his nutty lawsuit against California for its proposed redistricting, but he filed it in Amarillo and his lead lawyer is some guy out of Florida.

  • The federal trial of the alleged attempted assassin of Trump in Florida begins today

It's Friday -- Let's Get Out of Here

Random Friday Morning Thoughts

I had forgotten that Kayne West said he was on the verge of entering the presidential campaign since Trump was doing so surprisingly well in the polls. The New Yorker couldn't resist poking fun at the absurdity of what we were seeing.

  • A Facebook video captured the moment it happened (at around 1:00 mark) in Fort Worth, although the neighbors yelling instructions aren't particularly helpful. Story.

  • New this morning. Uh, what are we doing?

    • That bombing earlier this week of a boat alleged to be full of drugs and drug dealers off the coast of Venezuela used to be something that the government would cover-up in a Tom Clancy novel.

  • I thought Trump would do this Tuesday, but it'll be today instead.

  • He's such a nutcase and a liar.

  • James O'Keefe is notorious for selectively editing "secret recordings" and generally can't be trusted. And lately he's using young women to go on fake dates with his targets who then records them. O'Keefe released one last night proclaiming it proved an Epstein cover-up:

    • But what was really weird was the U.S. Department of Justice responding online to the video by simply posting a text message "statement" from Schnitt trying to do damage control:

  • A new cosplay image from Kristi Noem was released yesterday - this time from Louisiana.

  • s Gift link.

  • The Business Second: The jobs report was just released, and it's not good. Is someone at the Bureau of Labor Statistics going to get fired again?.

  • Random Fox 4 screenshot this morning:

  • Lauren Whitener Clock: 6 years and 63 days.
