Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts

This announcement was made by the ATF two years after the huge explosion in the town of West.  But they couldn't even tell us how the initial fire started nor did they have any suspects.  Pure baloney.

  • Get used to high gas prices.
    • And we had inflation numbers released moments ago:

  • Also new this morning. (Told ya.)

  • And he keeps calling it a "reflective pond" instead of its actual name of "reflecting pool."

  • Trump is about to leave on a trip to China.  He is spending his time preparing by posting this a few moments ago.  (He also posted 55 times in three hours last night with most of them being the ramblings of a madman.)

  • The Supreme Court is hosting a redistricting orgy right now.

  • Jamaica? That woman gets Jamaica?

  • I wasn't concerned about the hantavirus until I heard this yesterday.

  • The grift never ends.

  • I saw this post on my timeline yesterday. A young lady in her 20s from Bridgeport was driving on the highway on that day in 1976.  She died three years later after having spent the remainder of her short life on oxygen and in a wheelchair.  It wasn't just "ammonia" that was released by the tanker -- it was anhydrous ammonia.

  • Former Dallas quarterback Craig Morton has passed away. in 1971, when Tom Landry was struggling on deciding on whether Morton or Roger Staubach should be the full time starter, there was one game where he alternated them on every single play

Random Monday Morning Thoughs

“I don’t know what the future will hold . . . .  I am convinced from all of my soul God is not done with America yet.” - Ted Cruz to the Texas GOP convention after dropping out of race against Trump.

  • The cruise passengers, both the infected and not infected, have landed in Nebraska this morning.

  • Dateline British Columbia. How did it get up there on Saturday afternoon? Answer: A wreck that was caught on video

  • We now know why a child was "chemically burned" late last week.
  • Friday night.  Video (which stops a second before impact.)

  • The Secretary of Transportation has been on a family road trip so that a reality TV show could be filmed.

  • These are not pictures from the 1960s. Nope. They were taken last week in Tennessee as all predominately minority Congressional districts will now disappear thanks to a Supreme Court ruling.  (To be fair, the South always did claim it would "rise again.")

  • After the legislature in Virginia redrew lines to counter the Texas gerrymandering, the Virginia Supreme Court on Friday struck it down based up on the state constitution.

  • This is really amazing. A 22-foot, gold-leafed Trump statue at his Doral Gold Club was blessed by a circle of evangelical and Jewish clergy.

  • Trump over the weekend.
    • Nuttiest statement.

    • Craziest post. (which was tough to choose from this weekend.)

    • Biggest lie.

  • It's all a grift (Gift link.).

  • One day this guy will stop embarrassing the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

  • The Business Second™.

  • New this morning: The Cowboys will travel to New York to face the Giants at 7:20 p.m. CST on Sept. 13 --- the first Sunday game of the year.
