Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts

The great clown scare of 2016.

  • Breaking: It is not Big Tex. Repeat. It is not Big Tex.

  • Honestly, I'd rather have a firing squad than a botched lethal injection like we saw in Tennessee last week. Side note: It would be the first military firing squad since 1945.

  • Notable death.

  • We seem to be seeing more and more of these.

  • Not a chance in the world that he's telling the truth.

  • What would get you impeached 20 years ago now won't make the news cycle through noon of the following day.

  • He's launched about 100 meaningless (and possibly non-existent) "investigations" in the last 60 days in an effort to get a headline.

  • Abbott avoiding Trump:

  • She almost bit it.  Video.

  • Nerdy legal stuff: It's just coming from one federal district judge (PDF), but it could have some legs. Side note: Most of the opinion deals with a Rodriguez prolonged detention issue which is favorable to defendants.
  • On the first day of the Supreme Court's term yesterday, they declined to hear 745 cases which have been filed asking for the court to review it by the losing party on appeal.
