Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts

It was a simpler time when this would constitute a "controversy."

  • A very big fire in Palo Pinto County has really grown overnight leading to evacuations in southern Jack County.

  • A good size fire along FM51 north of Decatur kept crews busy yesterday afternoon.

  • Yesterday we had a couple of court sentencing cases come to a head in Decatur after two defendants had earlier pled guilty in district court.   The first one ended up with a 10 year probation.  It's my understanding that is what a pre-sentence investigation recommended.

  • The other one involved a guy with a criminal history who pled guilty to Intoxication Manslaughter.

    • Flashback to when that wreck happened. I guess I was correct:

  • There was a police chase down I-35 that ended up in Burleson last night.  The suspect ended up dead and an officer was shot in the leg.

  •  Video has appeared of Wise County Rep. Andy Hopper being obsessed with Muslims instead of focusing on issues important to us. Maybe he will recommend that all Muslims wear an arm band -- you know, just for starters.

  • The owner of the San Francisco 49ers had a bad, and very odd, weekend: He got caught up in one of those prostitution stings by cops.

  • Kind of funny. Video.

  • I'm barely following the Lindsay Clancy trial, but I must say I've never seen a judge instruct a jury to disregard evidence by standing up and being this animated.

  • He's trying too hard.

  • Target's PR department was busy.

  • Update from yesterday: She is no longer on the run.

  • He has to be one of the dumbest men in America, right?

  • LSU signed two football players yesterday who were just in NFL training camps for the Browns and the Saints. I'm as confused as you are.
