Random Monday Morning Thoughts

\
The death toll would eventually rise to nine after their "light medium tactical vehicle" overturned in a swollen creek.

  • This trial has the potential to get out of hand. But it won't be live-streamed.

  • We are not told exactly how this happened or what "gain control" actually means.

  • Self-driving cars can't do worse than humans do. All of these headlines are from this weekend:

  • Drama at All Saints Episcopal School. Gift link.

  • When a city starts micro-managing its municipal court, there's a bigger problem, often cancerous, within that city. It just takes a little time for the smarter minds within it to figure it out.

  • I thought this war was on the verge of getting wrapped up last week.

    • New this morning:

  • Remember those boat strikes down south? They had still been going on -- Without a war declared against them or giving them a trial. Just summarily executed, regardless of guilt or innocence.

  • Trump's online postings on Saturday were worse than normal. Truly the unfiltered words and thoughts of what's on his mind in real time, and it is not comforting. A collection of them is here.

  • Trump is big mad, too. And he wants to turn the Fourth of July into a MAGA rally.

  • Trump had a bad day in the courts on Friday. Not that he'll pay attention to any of the rulings.

  • One in five have left.

  • I don't see how that Tech quarterback is going to get clearance to play this season.

  • I say it every year: College softball is big time entertainment. And both Tech and Texas won in dramatic fashion yesterday in the ongoing world series in Oklahoma City.

It's Friday -- Let's Get Out of Here

Random Friday Morning Thoughts

My man @Fox4Terry was working hard as he photographed a failed ATM theft at Comerica Bank on West Mockingbird Lane near I-35. And it was the second time a forklift was attempted in an ATM heist.

  • A huge apartment fire, probably due to a gas leak, killed three yesterday in Dallas.

  • Dateline Galveston. They were all college kids, and it took over four hours to get them all down.

  • Story.

  • There was a serial killer on the loose in Hawaii.   He was finally been captured after he tried to pull off a Rambo-style escape.

  •  Look at this view of last night's explosion from a patio bar many miles away.

  • The Great American State Fair, a "free 16-day festival set to take over the National Mall in Washington, D.C., with concerts, military tributes and patriotic bashes for America’s 250th anniversary" is having a little trouble. They better put Kid Rock and Lee Greenwood on standby again.

  • Russia just casually bombing a NATO country?

  • We live in Idiocracy.

  • In John Cornyn's concession speech, he said this regarding voting:  "Those who show up decide for those who do not"

  • Don't do this.

  • The MAGA takeover of CBS is underway.

  • The Business Second™.

  • Lauren Whitener Clock: 6 years and 330 days.

Random Thursday Morning Thoughts

Harambe!

  • If you hire a principal who happens to be Muslim, MAGA will come for you.

  • It was testing by Bell Helicopter related.

  • This is a bold move.  If the judge picks a prison number, he'll have to serve one half of it before becoming eligible for parole.  But one loophole, not mentioned in any story about this, is that the judge could grant him deferred adjudication and place him on probation. (Side note: Notice how it now takes almost three weeks for a story like this to make the local news.)

  • Here's an idea: Flip-flops.

  • You can bet on what people will be searching for on Google?

  • He had his own little Fort Knox going on.

  • The cease fire/peace plan for Trump's war against Iran isn't going well. Over the last 18 hours:

  • More examples that we are living in an autocracy:
    • Yet another instance of using the Justice Department like a mob boss.

    • New this morning.  Gift link.

    • A month ago Trump said to “go out and buy a Dell computer.”  In the February before that, he had purchased shares of Dell in the "$1 million to $5 million band" according to financial disclosure forms. Now this

  • There was another South Korea-like cabinet meeting yesterday. Here are a couple of Trump quotes:

  • The Texas D.A. who once indicted Netflix on pornography charges, and who was once a small time movie star himself,  will not seek re-election.

  • Messenger - Above the Fold
