  • Indictments in Wise County late last week:

  • LaGuardia is in a ground stop until 2:30 this afternoon. 



  • Dateline White Settlement: "Police say investigators concluded that three men came to Shoot Smart for a shooting session, and at its conclusion, one of the men removed a magazine from his firearm but left his hand covering the muzzle of the weapon. At the same time, the man pulled the trigger and seriously injured his hand, causing a loss of functionality in several fingers and his hand."

  • That's a man-sized party. Story and satellite view of house.


  • Update on the guy who once ran his truck into the Fox 4 studio. He may be a little nuts.

     

  • Reading the comments from the assistant DA, it sounds like the prosecutors were in favor of the no bill.  They may have gone to the grand jury for political cover instead of just declining the case. Gift link.


  • I want to know more about this. They landed on that ledge?
     

  • Bo French is such a racist maniac that most Republicans want to have nothing to do with him. But Wise County's Andy Hopper will speak at a fundraiser for him. 

  • Robert Mueller died over the weekend. And Trump then confirmed himself as a despicable human being. 


  • They aren't going to show up with their faces covered, are they? 


  • Once again, Russia and the U.S. walk hand in hand.  


  • Having your local radio station throw it to the national feed of CBS radio at the top of the hour is now gone.  

  • The biggest news of the weekend is that Trump threatened a war crime and a major escalation of the war unless the Strait of Hormuz was opened up by this evening at 7:44 p.m. EST  . . . 

     
      • . . . Until this morning when Trump backed down.  Iran immediately said no such talks have occurred. I'd bet on Iran on this one. 




  • Yes, Chuck Norris has died, and these sweet jeans would be a collector's item.

  • The Justin Timberlake DWI video was released.  I can tell that officer wasn't used to doing field sobriety tests at all.

70 months federal time is 70 real months.

  • Oh, my! Michael Chadwick Fry was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly removing human remains from a Denton County cemetery in Bartonville and abusing them. He’s the same man who crashed a truck into the side of the FOX 4 building in 2018.



  • Fear the gas leak.


  • People are crazy. 


  • The missing Universiy of Alabama student in Spain does not have a happy ending.

  • War headlines:




  • "The upcoming season of 'The Bachelorette' won’t air after TMZ published a 2023 video that appears to show season lead Taylor Frankie Paul attacking her ex-boyfriend."  It was already filmed, edited, and ready to go.  That had to have cost a pretty penny.

Random Thursday Morning Thoughts




It was finally becoming real.

  • Last chance to enter the Liberally Lean Pick 'Em March Madness Tourney. Games start this morning at 11:15 a.m.   Just like the last two years, we've got a tricked up scoring system to reward upsets and the pick of the overall winner. 

  • He would charge $3,000 to family members and then go visit inmates. (That's about all we know.)

  • "Officials said Blake Bowman spent over $1 million of funds intended for Camp Thurman in Pantego, Texas for personal use. The exact total of misused funds isn't known."

  • We've got a missing University of Alabama student in Spain.
     

  • You need to get your head in front and close your stance, but otherwise that is a textbook tackle. 

  • The War escalated yesterday. Big time. 
    • Israel bombed a major gas oil field in Iran seemingly making Trump angry. 

    • Iran then fired back by blasting oil fields in multiple surrounding countries. 


    • The consequences were immediate. 
    • But let's go and ramp this thing up, right?
    • It's only March. 

  • How that case even made it to the jury without it being thrown out, is a mystery.  Side note: I was surprised to see the Pledge of Allegiance being led by the judge. I've never seen the pledge said in any courtroom ever. 

  • Since it was sold, I've seen a marked deterioration in the quality of the Dallas Morning News.  This won't help it:
  • Legal nerdy stuff: Watch 1:27 of a lawyer squirm in front of a judge who is being way too nice to her.  She denied drafting a lower court order (something that is very common for a winning party) because the final signed order included hallucinated AI case cites. She said the trial judge amended the proposed order she submitted by including those AI fake case cites. But there was one little problem she hadn't thought about. 
  • Legal nerdy stuff #2: The New York Post can mock the juror in this headline all they want, but this makes perfect sense.  You can think someone is probably guilty but still not be convinced beyond a reasonable doubt.
