Random Friday Morning Thought

And it all began.

  • A big murder conviction in Wise County was affirmed (PDF) late yesterday by the Fort Worth Court of Appeals.  One of the points of appeal was a juror passing out during some of the testimony.

  • A faithful reader sent me this photo of the huge solar farm in Palo Pinto County I mentioned yesterday. You have to look closely, but tract after tract of land in this pic is being used for it.

  • Shocking headline.

    • In other news, the Tarrant County DA's office was having a little trouble in misdemeanor court this week.  One not guilty and two directed verdicts against them. And there are still two verdicts yet to come.

  • There are large parts of the Alliance area which didn't have electricity for over 24 hours after a minor storm blew threw on Wednesday evening.
  • Cruelty is the point:
    • On Tuesday:

    • Yesterday:

  • I don't think they will convict her, but there sure are a lot of lesser charges they have as an alternative option to murder.

  • The man is laser focused on the main issues that matter to us. "We're going to call it Lake America, and all it takes is a good pen and some intelligence," he said yesterday.

  • He's going to make the 25th anniversary of 9/11 all about him.
  • The Business Second™.  Nvidia, the chip maker, just keeps getting buried in cash and in sales.
  • This game was actually streamed last night. Southlake was dead in the water, and there was no way they were going to come back. I thought.   The game was played in a very hot looking and virtually empty Cotton Bowl.
  • Here's a link the barratry verdict story in the Morning News (below).
