- The re-grand opening of the courthouse is tomorrow and, let me tell you, they are scrambling on trying to get the exterior around the building presentable.
- Corruption in plain sight. His former defense lawyers who are now in leadership positions of the Justice Department, including Todd Blanche, will decide whether or not to pay him for the meritless claims. (Gift link.)
- And there's no secret about it. He admitted it all yesterday after the story came out. Video.
- It had looked like that only a small portion of the East Wing was going to be destroyed. Nope, the whole East Wing is going down.
- We've finally found something which will stop a Trump nominee: Admit to being a Nazi.
- Random Trump quote from yesterday:
- I'll never get over Trump pardoning all the Insurrectionists.
- The Technology Second™.
- "SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — He was set for sentencing today and chose to take a different way out rather than face the music in court," said District Attorney John Kermit Hill . . . . Tucker shot and killed himself at his attorney's office just minutes before his scheduled appearance."
- This Houston trial is going on this week.
- We've had two days of early voting for the Texas constitutional amendments election and 555 people have voted in Wise County.

Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts
The picture of the dog alongside her photo made me laugh back then, and still does. It looks like the criminal case actually was set for a jury trial in Tarrant County in September of the following year, but was resolved at the last second by what she called "a favorable outcome."
- It sounds like it was the body of a transient who had been dead for months. That makes it an event which should give rise to a special kind of reflection.
- Story.
- A headline that will make you do a doubletake.
- And another unusual story.
- The Internet outage yesterday showed how we are all screwed once their is finally a large cyber attack.
- The destruction of part of the White House serves as both a metaphor for Trump's presidency and more proof that he isn't planning on leaving at all.
- I love graphics to explain stuff.
- All the images of the destruction yesterday came from the property of the Treasury Department which sits just to the side of East Wing. They put a kibosh on that.
- This is admittedly just a report from TMZ, but would anyone be surprised?
- This was from a three judge panel and a 2-1 decision. The two were Trump appointed judges.
- The dissent asks the whole court to consider to vote to rehear the case with all of the judges on the court particpating. (They'll do that.) But he seemed to forecast that, in the end, no court will be able to stop Trump.
- The New York Times has a neat article with maps and images explaining the robbery of the Louvre. Gift link.
- Legal stuff, kind of. This statement was issued yesterday by the Dallas D.A.'s office about a case where an arrest was made five days ago. I don't know what prompted it. Here the background on the case and the video he referenced.
- New ICE recruits who had not previously been part of law enforcement must pass a physical test which involves being able to do 15 push-ups, 32 sit-ups, and run 1.5 miles in 14 minutes. One-third have failed.

Random Monday Morning Thoughts
- Drive-thru rage? This shooting sounds like a confrontation between people in the drive-thru line at around 8:00 last night. This is by I-35 and Western Center.
- A wild scene over the weekend after a guy allegedly kills three people (a 51 and 72 years old who were shot, both women, and a 51 year old man who was stabbed) in Mabank in East Texas. He then crashed into a a Buc-ee's and shot himself while still in the car.
- This shooting, while left three people injured, occurred after students returned from an off campus party.
- This was right out of Ocean's 11. And, maybe I'm naive, but what exactly do they do with the jewels now? It's not exactly something you can sell on Craigslist.
- So we're told that the people on these boats are drug dealers who are so dangerous that they must be killed without any due process, but if they don’t die in the initial strike, they just get released and allowed to go home? We are being lied to.
- What are we doing here?
- You gotta be kidding me.
- Trump let for U.S. Rep. George Santos out of prison on Friday because “[a]t least Santos had the Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN!”
- We also had a record from being in a prison cell to going onto the Fox News couch:
- "Peace in the Middle East" didn't last long.
- Trump had said only a month ago that Ukraine should be able to retake all the land Russia had invaded and "even more." No he's saying completely different as he refuses to give Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
- The No Kings Protests:
- There were big crowds everywhere on Saturday and not a whiff of violence.
- Trump responded with maybe his most shocking post yet. He's not well.
- The official White House account mocked the protestors as well.
- Now that would get your attention. Video.
- One of the two Texans arrested for leaving their infant alone on a Florida beach "currently serves as U.S. Heart and Vascular’s regional president for southeast Texas."
