And so it goes.

  • County Judge J.D. Clark gave us an online sneak peak of the courthouse renovation. This is on the third floor where the commissioners court will meet. 

  • I never heard an update on this.

  • "The firefighters suffered from smoke inhalation and over-exertion, but all were treated and released by Sunday morning." A little strange.



  • A 7,400 page document dump on a Sunday of a holiday weekend?

  • Something is a little fishy about this.

  • We have absolutely no details, but a boat crashed into a dock on Eagle Mountain Lake last night.

  • On Friday,  the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit struck down Trump's tariffs which he is imposing instead of Congress.  The decision is on hold.


  • Trump:
    • With rumors about his health over the weekend, Trump posted this QAnon craziness.

    • And in two posts, Trump vowed to end mail-in voting and voting machines for 2026. Get ready, we are about to have elections in name only. It's over.  

    • He threatened to send troops to Chicago. "We're coming."

  • Kristi Noem was speaking straight  from the authoritarian playbook on Sunday: Only the dear leader can save the country.

Random Friday Morning Thoughts




Trump on the campaign trail speaking about the news team duo who were gunned down during a live shot.  But the chyron also reminds us he's been the same for 10 years.

  •  But only a 7 year prison sentence. Kobby Warren out of Fort Worth was the defense lawyer. Prosecutors were "M. Ferry" and "G. Ezzell" according to the Tarrant County D.A.'s office.

  • I finally checked the price of the only full time pay-to-park lot in Wise County, which is located behind the restaurants on eastside of the courthouse square in Decatur, and these are your options:

  • It was disclosed yesterday that the Minneapolis shooter fired 116 rounds through the stained-glass windows. And video has been released of kids running out of the sanctuary. 


  • In the midst of the CDC chaos, a new interim director has been appointed. Is he a physician? Is he a scientist? Nope. 


  • The Texas legislature is deep in the special session and is obviously tackling the most critical issues of the day:

  • Random head scratchers concerning the state of America:
    • An image out of Washington D.C.  Totally normal. 
    • I'm telling you, January 6th will be a national holiday someday. 

    • Nothing to see here. 

  • Random constable vehicle out of Houston. 

  • I'm in the minority who thinks that it would be dumb to sign Micah Parson to a 4-year, $188 million deal like the Packers did as part of the big trade yesterday afternoon,  but Jerry's meandering news conference afterwards proved beyond a doubt that he has turned into crazy Al Davis from back in the day.  Side note: The Cowboys now have $42 million in open cap room this season, the second most in the NFL.

  • Legal nerdy random YouTube video of a sentencing hearing from a month ago out of Ohio. It's 13 minutes long, but I found it wildly entertaining.  Here's a news story covering it.

Random Thursday Morning Thoughts






The time Usain Bolt won the 200 meters at World Athletics Championships in Beijing, and then almost had his legs broken by a cameraman on Segway. Video.

  • You don't see a sheriff get indicted every day. WFAA has most of the details out of Johnson County.

  • Another day in America. This time, kids were shot dead while sitting in pews at a church.

    • And Texas Tech got an unnecessary scare yesterday afternoon. 

  • More Tech news. The parents were returning home to Grand Prairie when stopped for a traffic violation in Eastland County. The next thing they knew, they are in the custody of ICE. They have been here for 25 years.

  • Update from a story earlier in the week:

  • "Heath" news:
    • You may soon get to eat horse paste if you choose to do so, without having to go to Tractor Supply.

    • The director of the CDC got fired because she thought, correctly, RFK Jr.'s anti-vax policies are nuts. 


    • Meanwhile, legislators, including Wise County's own Andy Hopper, welcomed RFK Jr. with open arms in Austin yesterday.. 

  • News from out friends up north:


  • Hey, I asked about whether this would happen two days ago! I love the rebellious grand jury. 


  • Trump's big trip to Alaska to meet with Putin hasn't exactly worked out. Last night, 598 drones and 31 missiles were launched by Russia into Ukraine, killing at least 15 in Kyiv alone.
