Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts

  • It was a tremendous service for W.B. Woodruff yesterday. A friend came up to me afterwards and told me after learning about W.B.'s history that he had never felt more inadequate in his life. I couldn't agree more.
  • And I learned that one of W.B.'s sons is a tremendous guitar player (he didn't play cords, he can pick), and the other one could be a motivational speaker and/or stand up comedian.
  • Trump's wheels off doctor said yesterday that (1) Trump dictated the letter about his health during the campaign, and (2) that his office was "raided" and Trump's records were seized.
  • Sarah Huckabee Sanders stood in front of the the press corp yesterday and said that none of the questions the Special Council want to ask Trump (which are now public) concerned Russian collusion. That is a bold face lie.
  • I'm going to say it for the millionth time: Watergate was a third rate burglary that got Nixon impeached. Tell you children to watch the news because history is coming.
  • Speaking of Crooks and Liars, the "Stay Woke" commentor always says I wrote that Trump would nuke North Korea. No I did not. I said that "I fear" he will launch a nuclear war. Words have meaning.
  • Lisa Blue Baron lost the election for State Bar president in Texas. My faith in my colleagues has been restored.
  • Stories like this are stunning. A prosecutor either was incompetent by (1) not knowing how to try a case or (2) indicting an innocent man.
  • Wow. Just wow
  • Kanye West, Trump's new BFF, called slavery a choice on TMZ. (By the way, to the one Dennis Prager fan out there, he referred to him yesterday as "conYEE".)
  • Senate hopeful Beto O’Rourke wants to debate Ted Cruz in Spanish. That's a genius challenge since Cruz would never do it.

Random Wednesday Tuesday Morning Thoughts

  • Word broke late yesterday that Trump's Chief of Staff John Kelly called him and "idiot." Kelly denies it. Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called him a "moron" and was fired. Watch this.
  • It was a touching ceremony for Judge Fostel yesterday in the Wise County Courthouse as the courtroom was dedicated to him.
  • But I did learn that we now have a Wise County Women's Bar Association.  How did I not know this?
  • What?
  • I've continued to watch Green Acres, and it is quality comedy.
  • The clown car continues. The Vice President's doctor is behind the VA Director's embattled nomination.
  • Failed Alabama Senate candidate and alleged pedophile Roy Moore has sued his accusers. This will not end well.
  • And suing "Fictitious Defendants" might be an Alabama thing, but that's one of the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I would understand "Unnamed Defendants" (until their identity is obtained) but to call the "Fictitious" makes no sense.
  • What's the term? Uh, Snowflakes?
  • The New York Times has obtained almost 50 questions that the Special Counsel wants to ask Trump. Oh, my! And it has freaked Trump out this morning.
  • The Rangers lost again last night, and the game took four hours. That sport is going to die.

Random Monday Morning Thoughts

  • Trump is coming to Dallas to speak at the NRA convention. He knows his base. (By the way, weapons will not be allowed. Seriously.)
  • I, sadly,  didn't get a picture with Stormy Daniels but Robert Wilonsky of the Dallas Morning News did. It sounds like there wasn't much of a crowd.
  • I need to correct the story about my dad using the Bridgeport Chief of Police's car with permission to go remove a dead dog for $1. When he came back he didn't pull behind two parked DPS trooper cars. There were only two DPS troopers assigned to the county but they only had one car.
  • Dallas traded Ryan Switzer to the Raiders in exchange for defensive lineman. He was nothing more than an attitudinal teen.
  • You kidding me?
  • He holds those rallies as therapy for him. He just wants to be loved. Nothing else is important.
  • He was too much of a coward to show up at the Correspondent's Dinner and he got crushed in a monologue (that even I have to admit was a bit over the top.)
  • That monologue included an attack on Sarah Huckabee Sanders. I love the hypocrisy from her father. The day before compared to the day after:
  • A White Settlement man is charged with Intoxication Manslaughter after a six month old was killed in Fort Worth. He was driving a "large pickup."
  • The tree is gone?  The French President wasn't kind to Trump in their last press conference. Coincidence?
  • If you like baseball or softball, you'll love this: OU scores and unconventional run against the Evil Empire.
  • Or this where a MLB player hits a home run into a garbage can. I had a buddy once tell me that when he was playing baseball in college that a home run happened and it hit the top of back fence. A player looked at him and said, "What are the odds of that happening?" His reply was, "The same odds of it landing on every single inch in this place." I've never forgotten it.

I Told You From Day One

The dumbest DA in the history of Texas has finally realized that he is actually dumb.

A Note To Everyone: Life Is Short No Matter How Long It Is

He came up to me at Judge Fostel's funeral, and he might be the only person in this world that makes me stand "at attention" with the exception of my father. He asked me, "Did your grandfather have a shop in Chico?" I told him I knew that "he had one in Decatur and Paradise and obviously one in Bridgeport but I'm  not sure about Chico." He smiled and said, "Yes he did, son. I bought a package of tobacco for a nickle from him."

It's Friday. Let's Get Out Of Here.

Analogy:  When a person commits a crime these days.
"Puppy! Get the ball! Get the ball!"

Random Friday Morning Thoughts

  • The NFL draft at Jerry World was insane. The production value was off the charts because the NFL is a billion dollar money making machine. (Dak Prescott only made $540,000 last year.)
  • QB Josh Allen fell to the 7th pick after his past tweets revealed he used the "n word" quite a bit. He said all the right things last night, but you are who you are.
  • And the other Josh (which I admit confused me keeping them apart) has his own issues:
  • Of course I got killed on here for saying the NFL Draft is a modern day slave auction. I smiled last night when I saw the 11th pick in the draft,  Minkah Fitzpatrick, was from Plantation, Florida and went to the University of Alabama.
  • This is a first for me: I'm seeing a cat fight for the presidency of the State Bar of Texas. (A position which is basically worthless.) One of the candidates is Lisa  Blue Baron who has angered her opponent because she is sending out "robocalls." That name might sound familiar because her late husband helped fund the relocation of the paramour of then U.S. presidential candidate John Edwards. (I immediately voted against her when I received my ballot.)
  • Back then, an affair would destroy any campaign of a presidential candidate. Now even Stormy Daniels won't impact his base. She's in Fort Worth tonight.
  • Let's check on Trump's mental health after his disastrous appearance on Fox and Friends yesterday. Now he's concerned about the World Cup?
  • The start of the Fox News interview vs. the End of the interview:
  • Someone submitted a comment attacking me yesterday (which I didn't post) and said "I bet you don't have the balls to post this." It was an anonymous comment. I'm still laughing at him. And he doesn't realize I know who he is.
  • Of course, no Southern state government would endorse one religion over another:
  • That appearance, because of his admissions, is going to get him indicted but he is too dumb to realize it. (And Fox News is now the closest thing we have ever had  in the U.S. to Pravda.)
  • My head exploded when I saw this. Go see two Elmer Gantrys? (I tried to figure out if they are charging but I couldn't find out.) These might be the two biggest shysters in America. I'm wondering if they have snake oil for sale in the foyer?
  • Trump's new best buddy made a bad prediction in 2016:
  • Would you take $500 off if I don't have this coupon?:
  • Uh?
  • It should scare all of you that Kim Jong Un, by meeting with with South Korean's leader, is playing America and Trump for a fool.  Just like the Russians were smart enough to infiltrate Facebook, do not underestimate your enemies. Flashback: It has happened before.

4.26.2018

Fox News' Diamond and Silk

Crooks and liars.

And the fact they are testifying before Congress also makes me insane.

Idiocracy.

I'm Fake News?

I've been called out this morning for being "Fake News" for saying that Trump, during the campaign, called for a Muslim ban. Uh....take a look at this. But I'm guessing you won't. As our respected leaders, back in the day, said, "“Facts are stubborn things."

Random Thursday Morning Thoughts

  • Warning: This is Trump heavy due to what came down this morning.
  • Breaking: Trump went on Fox and Friends this morning and admitted that Cohen represented him in the Stormy Daniels payoff when he previously has said he had no knowledge of it. "Like with this crazy Stormy Daniels thing, he represented me," he said. What a moron.
  • He sounds like a madman in that interview
  • Cohen said yesterday that he would take the Fifth Amendment in the lawsuit filed against him by Stormy Daniels. That led to the resurfacing of Trump saying last year, “The mob takes the Fifth. If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?” This is becoming a clown car.
  • Breaking: Trump's VA nominee, Ronny Jackson, has withdrawn after allegations that he drunkenly banged on a female's hotel room door, crashed a government car while drunk, and handed out opiods like candy. He says the allegations are not true. Sure
  • Yesterday, Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Jackson had been "properly vetted."
  • That girl is going to have a nervous breakdown. She needs to walk away. Now.
  • I feel dumb for never having heard of the "Golden State Killer." That cold case led to an arrest this week of an ex-cop. It's fascinating
  • The French president said yesterday he would not meet with the Dalai Lama. I would have at least been his caddy. You know, I might "get something for the effort."
  • The NFL draft today will be on ABC and FOX on prime time. That's in addition to ESPN and the NFL Network. That's crazy.
  • I think Baker Mayfield may be one of the greatest college football quarterbacks of all time. But there is no way I would draft him.
  • There's a movement to have long time sports personality Norm Hitzges announce the very last pick in the draft.  If Jerry Jones and the NFL doesn't make it happen, something is very wrong. It would be great PR. My bet: It will happen.
  • I've said for a long time that some Ticket segments are nothing more than paid ads. An online debate broke out about it which I wasn't involved in.
  • It was brutal in the Supreme Court which heard oral arguments on Trump's travel ban yesterday. Trump said during the campaign that he would ban all Muslims from entering the country. Justice Kagan seized on it and asked this hypothetical:
  • Ford announced yesterday "it will phase out most cars it sells in North America. According to its latest financial release, the auto giant 'will transition to two vehicles' — the Mustang and an unannounced vehicle, the Focus Active, being the only traditional cars it sells in the region." It's all trucks and SUV's now.
  • This guy is going to get crushed today for his reckless spending of taxpayer dollars. #MAGA
  • Allergies might kill all of us.

4.25.2018

I'm Not Saying It Is Right. I'm Not Saying It Is Wrong.

But while watching a video of a Wise County Sheriff's Deputy pursuing an alleged reckless driver, that speed got my attention. Everything, and I mean everything, is recorded these days.

(This is the top portion of the video. I've edited out the date.)

Another deputy will show up later to do field sobriety testing. He tells the person to walk over in front of his "nice Charger."

No!!!!!!!
